Fujiyama-Blue In The Old Bottle - A Fair Price?

Arctic_Wolf

Recommended Posts

So I've got an old bottle of Bung-Box Fujiyama Blue, from before they switched to the short, fat bottles. I've never used it, having got a sample through Vanness pens and not been a fan of how light the color is. Does anyone know what a fair asking price for it would be? I've seen sailor inks go for some pretty ridiculous prices on Ebay before, so it's hard to get a mark on a fair price for the ink. Any input is welcome. (Also I'm unsure if this type of post is discouraged in this section, so please feel free to remove it if it's breaking any guidelines)

What is your definition of "fair price"?

If you want to recoup your cost, then for me, "fair price" is exact;y that, how much it cost you plus any shipping involved.

If it was me, I rather trade for something I really want and might not have easy availability. Post in the classifieds if you want to trade.

Why not let people decide a fair price they would be willing to pay?

1. Put it on auction in the Chinese market, should fetch you $100-200 since they really like these colours.

2. Put it on ebay auction like Atsu does (cool-japan with a different eBay ID). He sells to make a profit, you are getting rid of it because you don't like the colour.

3. If you really want to trade, don't trade for anything other than a sailor diamond bottle with a colour you like.

Honestly, no one would fault you for selling the ink on Ebay. As Mew noted in the post above, you're looking to move it because you do not like the color, not so much to make money. However, if your auction fetches you much more than what you paid, don't feel guilty--you're not buying up the market share of shop exclusive inks to yield profits off the tears of the desperate.

My recommendation is to trade it for another diamond bottle or sell it at cost to a member you know that's been vying for it and would not sell it, but do what you feel is best for you.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!
