On Robert Oster's shop website Fire Engine Red is described as follows: "This beautiful shade of red is unique. Red has never looked this much like living, moving, coals of fire. Flows on bright Red, dries on like the sheen of a Fire Engine."

The color is nice and it shades quite a lot. Some of the photos are oversaturated. I'll try to make some additional photos tomorrow.

Lovely Red.... I am quite taken by these Robert Oster's inks...

Your pics make it look a tad more brighter than what it is. It almost looks like Irori Red, which Robert Oster Fire Engine Red is not. But is a lovely red nonetheless.

Thanks for your review. I'm not a fan of Oster reds. His weakest inks, I think. Your red looks nothing like my bottle. Mine is much less saturated, paler & rather boring I'm afraid. I wish his reds were as good as his greens because I love a good red ink.

Here's the photo taken from the window (8 AM, no sun, cloudy sky, QPcard used to set white balance). It's not as saturated as in my review. Sadly my scanner, even though calibrated can't deal with reds. It always makes them too pinkish. Therefore when I review reds I always use camera, and sometimes the results aren't the best.

Thank you for your detailed reviews. Thanks Migo and Cyber6 for the correction. I haven't inked up any of his reds. I was really impressed with Aqua, and Barbossa Grape made me smile.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you for another great review. Not my color, though.

Can you say something about the flow? Looks quite good from the photos but I'd be interested in your opinion.

About scanning and photography: If you get a gray card (18% neutral gray) it is pretty easy to set the perfect white balance.
