How Do You Carry Your Eco?

Recommended Posts

Folks, I have been tempted by the ink capacity and price of the Eco, and I like TWSBI nibs a lot, but I carry my pens in my shirt pocket. The Eco does not look good for this at all to me, but let me hear: If the Eco is in your EDC, how do you transport it and carry it around with you? I am a teacher who teaches in several classrooms, so I do not have a desk where I can just leave things out (always risky at a school, anyway).

What do you do?

thanks

If wearing a polo shirt, I clip it on the placket. If wearing a suit or sport coat, I clip it in the inside pocket. Ifyou are wearing a dress shirt or sport shirt and the pocket is not deep enough, I guess you could clip it in between 2 buttons. Or buy new shirts.

Mine fits in my shirt pocket.

Otherwise it lives in a pocket protector that I put in my bag.

Nock Co. Lookout. Two Ecos and a Visconti in my shirt pocket.

Yikes, that is a lot of bulk and weight for a shirt pocket. I also carry a pocket planner there, so I can't stuff all this in one shirt pocket. But thanks.

I clip mine on my shirt pocket. If I don't have a pocket, I just clip or in my shirt, pen inside.

I usually have both my Eco and my 580 in my shirt pocket. (yes at the same time)

I carry pens in Lihit Lab book-style pen cases in my backpack. I carry an Eco or Prera clipped to my lanyard on my neck if I leave my classroom.

I find my shirt pockets differ in depth. My TWSBI Eco fits if the shirt has a deeper pocket, but for me it's about a 50/50 ratio (the Diamond 580 is about the same size, so causes me the same problem sometimes). The Diamond Mini, by contrast, fits in pretty much any pocket - likewise also my Kaweco Sports pens (with clip). For that reason, I tend to rely on these smaller pens for everyday pocket carry, and take my larger TWSBIs with me in a jacket pocket or a Nock Co pen case. You *could* carry an Eco clipped into a trousers pocket, but even though it's sturdier than other TWSBIs it's still made of plastic...

I do have a few shirts with slightly smaller pockets (some golf shirts) and I usually carry a different pen with those. (Pelikan M200 as an example)

ALmost always in some sort of case, very seldom 'naked' in a shirt pocket (though if I am wearing a jacket, I'll sometimes put the pen into an inside pocket).

For shirts with a shallow pocket, I use a pocket protector and clip the pen to the back/taller side.

Nock Co Fodderstack (with a mini notebook) stuck in a cargo pocket, or the front pocket of my pants if they're not cargo shorts. Sometimes my coworkers kid me about looking like I'm about to go hiking all the time.
