Edson - Disassembled

Left FPN

Going through my ever increasing photo files I found this...how could I forget...easy, it was in a L'etalon folder.

Between items 11 and 17 I cannot see a special valve to prevent leakage at 6500 feet.

Hi,

About that "special valve." I think something got lost in translation between the technical team and the marketing team as often happens. The feed has a lot of fins to collect the ink that would be pushed out by pressure changes, but it is no "valve." I've had one apart, and it's a pretty normal pen under the hood although it does have a lot of parts. There is that cover at 14 that covers the tip of the feed and gives it a futuristic look. It was always kind of funny to me how such a huge and futuristic looking sceptre pen has such a thin and narrow converter. (In a way kind of like the Sailor King of Pen although the King of Pen has a more traditional look).

Nice pic, Force.

Maybe time to start a pinned topic with exploded Waterman sections?

How many do you have now?

I only have two, the Carene and Phileas.

I have been staring at the above picture and conclude it has either been Photoshoped or the owner had two pens or spare parts because item 15 is a part of item 11.

Just my 2 cents ~~~ but I, too, think it would be nice to have a pinned topic on the exploded sections!!!

Both Ernst Bitterman and I (perhaps others) have tried but so far failed with disassembling the L'etalon section. Ernst may have got a little further but I think there was some damage in doing so.

As for the Phileas, I could not remove the cap clip which some have found very easy...but then again they probably can't remove a Carene clip

Just to make all aware the above disassembly is not my doing...

Maybe we should ask Mr Goulet for his assistance.
