I'm in, and happy to see a new pen that will enhance my enjoyment of my Nauka Ebonite. That has been one of my favorite pens since I bought it last year. I hope to have as good luck with the new one, as I think you produce excellent pens at an excellent price.

Thanks again for the group buy,

Harry Brown

I've just noticed that this pen can now be ordered through Asapens website, and I'm a bit confused. I think the form you asked us to fill is the Google form that can be found in page 1 of this thread, and not the order form in Asapens website. If I already filled the Google form, then I can wait for your payment instructions and no need to order via Asapens website. Please kindly correct me if I understand the procedures wrongly. Thank you.

We initially started out with forms.. And wanted to send paypal I'd for making payment to every individual.. This form also enabled us to track the list of participant and thier choices.. However lot of people have requested for change.. More than 50%

So Subramaniam created a link where they can come on website and reconfirm choices and make payment accordingly..

By no means the Google form is redundant because its acting as purchase tracker also..

Thank you Mr Mehandiratta for your prompt reply. This means that I shall go directly to Mr Subramaniam's website to order the pen and make payment ? I must thank both of you again for bringing us this beautiful pen.

I know why I was confused. G-mail had put Mr Subramaniam's e-mail into the Promotion folder. So, I missed it yesterday and didn't know Mr Subramaniam has actually redirected us to his website already. Sorry for the trouble I've made  . I've just made my order and completed the payment. Now the waiting begins :) .

I have paid for with the provided link (almost missed it cause it got into the spam folder  ) . How to i proceed to request for not having the engraving? my order number is #5866.

I think this pen will be look awesome with a matt ebonite cap and barrel, the 10mm exposed section will look like an ink window alas the Lamy 2000 :lticaptd:

Eyedropper version cannot be used with cartridge or converter...

However the CC Mechanism one can be used as an eye dropper... Thus it is called 3 in 1.. Because it can be used with cartridge, converter and also as an eyedropper

Sorry, so why to chose one against the other?

The eyedropper has some different sealing? (a gasket or something?)

Or there is only some "cosmetic" difference?

Thank you :)

As I understand it, the eyedropper only version does not use the Jowo nib unit, and therefore cannot be fitted with a converter/cartridge and must be used as an eyedropper because of this. I have to assume that the non-Jowo nib units do not have a 'nipple' on the back for a converter to fit onto?

Eyedropper pens use the barrel to directly hold the ink, i.e. the entire barrel is full of ink as in the pictures in the op. Advantages of this filling system include:

.Huge ink capacity, 4ml plus (converter only 0.5-1ml)

.Easy to clean, nothing to go wrong, only maintenance is maybe applying a tiny bit of silicon grease to the threads to prevent leaks but this is probably unnecessary.

.Visually looks really good

Disadvantages of eyedroppers include:

.Pens can burp and flow be variable due to changes in temperature due to the climate or your hand. Also burping may be caused by the ink level dropping dropping below 50%.

The 3 in system allows the use not the converter which solves the problem of burping and you confuse bottled ink. You can also use cartridges which are convenient to replace out and about. The disadvantage is this adds to the cost. You can also choose more nib sizes such as stubs in this group buy. However the ambitious nib on the eyedropper version is a very nice medium/fine anyway.

Hope that helps.

P.s burping is largely down to personal usage of the pen in my opinion. I write very fast and hence I don't think I give the pen any chances to burp.

Yes on the eyedropper version the nib is friction fit and the feed extends out of the section a few min into the barrel. Obviously therefore there's no place to fix a cartridge or converter retrospectively.

Now I've understand, so you can't have an Eyedropper vers. with the jowo or schmidt nibs.

Due to the form that allow to choose eyedropper and than any other nib option I was understanding that the difference in price was only due to the nib choice, but now I see, It's also due to the filling mech. :D

Maybe this was clear to everyone but I need my time XD
