Thanks a lot for the correction :) I didn't know about this as 19 years ago I would have never dreamt about having such a pen..but is good to know that it was still relatively long since the last rose gold edition.

Actually my friends, the Pope Julius II 888 was also rose gold. I believe it was more recent than the Catherine the Great. Only reason I went for these two back in the days ;)

Thanks for posting the writing sample. I too share the view now that uninked modern pens are such a waste. Enjoy!

indeed...I don't really understand the point of a pen that cannot be used to write :)

With my coral pens I go for something green, usually. I rarely match body with color but rather with what will make a suiting contrast.

yes I am also not bound by the colour of the pen and I might change it to something else soon ...Defoe palm green my favourite green ;) but I want to use some of the leonardo too..it was so hard to get that it must be used :)

Thanks for the photos! gorgeous pens :) Still it seems to be the first 888 in rose gold in 11 years then :)

The other 2 888 I have are yellow gold (stairway and sforza) so I think that this is a nice fit and a very art deco design that I love. It feels very contemporary !

Lovely pen - I have the 4810 version. The Pope Julius 888 was in Rose Gold also - still my favourite POA 888.

Thanks for your comment! I think the 4810 is fantastic too. I just loved the unusual colour of the 888 but both are really very nice. I also had a chance to see the 88 and is also something ....but love the orange/coral of this one!

That's a neat idea.
