I'm really at a loss for words here. Bad batch, maybe?

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Yes, your scans in the Standardgraph comparison show something close to Cacao du Bresil or Macassar.

When I loaded the 2 pens and tried them on the cheap memo, it was so light I thought at first they had sent me Schilfgrun by mistake but the bottle is labeled Feigenbraun. The ink in the bottle is very dark. The bottle was maybe 2/3 to 3/4 full, definitely a lot of empty space in it.

I let the ink sit in the pens for 5-6 hours before doing the review.

I think Standardgraph may have had some labeling issues lately - I bought a bottle of, uh, "coffee brown" from my local brick and mortar store, and it was only a touch darker (and of a similar shade) than J. Herbin's Ambre de Birmanie.

I'm relatively sure that bottle is actually maize yellow.

Did you compare your sample to other Standardgraph inks? Because that looks a lot like some coffee brown scans I've seen, actually.

Not, in person, no, but I have repeatedly referenced visvamitra's review, both before, when I was considering ordering the Feigenbraun, and after receiving it and the color appearing so off.

It's actually kind of hard to describe; when compared to the written page, the scan above looks pretty close while, at the same time, it also looks 'browner', the written has a yellowish cast to it, not reddish like the Kaffeebraun. Comparing it with visva's scans, the written page looks like the Schilfgrun.
