Tactical Fountain Pen

So many things in the States are being marketed as "tactical" these days -- tactical outerwear, tactical boots, tactical knives and flashlights, as though we are all on the brink of battle on the homefront. Well, if that's the case, I want a tactical fountain pen with which to write my battle strategy. This is the one -- 6061 aluminum anodized in stealth black, slim enough to fit in one of those dedicated pencil pockets in khaki shirts with epaulets. Tactical things seem to have holes -- maybe to clip to your pack with a handy carabiner. This has holes, too. So does the rock, which comes from the Oregon coast, where the invaders might invade. The rock is ready, just in case.

Thanks for looking!

Doug (ready as I can be)

Write with a pen as unique as your thoughts!

Tactical stuff is definitely not my thing, but your pen (did you make it?) certainly has the right look! Zwack has a big, long one (Levenger brand, I think) that has tools inside and a pointy, heavy thing on the cap for smashing car windows if you get stuck in your vehicle underwater. God willing, we'll never need to use that feature!

The above made me smile :-). Just what I need as I head to bed. Thank you :-).

I like the holes, btw :-).

That's perfect, Doug!

It will match my tactical seat covers! And my tactical coffee! And my tactical underwear! And...

I was expecting you to provide a tactical writing sample. Maybe later, when you secure some tactical paper and a tactical scanner.

Mi blog "Mis Plumas Fuente" contiene evaluaciones en lengua Castellana, muestras de escritura y fotografías originales de las plumas en mi colección.

Very cool. Streamlined and basic, I love the clip too. For me that clip is what brings it together.

Well, I took a Pelikan M200 into actual combat with me in 93 (UNOSOM I and II, Operation Goth Serpent in Somalia.) And two bottles of ink. Back then everyone had Fisher Space pens, in woodland cammy patterns that they took with them, and waterproof paper, for Sit-Reps. When they dropped them on the ground, they'd loose them, because: Camouflage.

I always figured all the tactical gear was either for preppers or army wannabees.

I think your M200 served you well, Webgeckos.

Doug, thank you for sharing the pen, and especially the rock.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

This is the Schrade Tactical pen. It is not available at the moment. This thing had a window breaker, rope cutter and a way to hold it so that you could use it as a weapon. I know the pen is supposed to mightier than the sword but I do not thing this is what the meant.

In theory if you were abandon in the woods something like this might be a more useful pen. Granted it you are trying to get on an airplane this might be a problem.

That's pretty funny. I tend to agree with you and your assumption of the demographic. However the handmade one above is cool, I like the minimal 50's industial look, but note it's devoid of any weapons or tools, it simply writes and looks good doing it.

I bought a Rotring 600 in the early '90's and it is very much a tactical pen with a stainless steel fine nib and a full aluminum barrel and cap!

I find the concept absurdly humorous. :lticaptd: As a literalist, however, I would choose a Sharpie. It writes on everything, from rocks and trees to human skin. What makes it "tactical" ? Why, the

accompanying gun, to be sure !

Of course, if one is willing to endure the three-day waiting period, there is the "assault pen".

The holes are to bind braided tactical rope on it and make the pen lighter in case a tactical retreat is neccessary.

P.S.: This was a tactical posting, of course.

For sticking someone in the neck, I suppose. 5.11 made one once. I don't know if they still do.
