Any Sailor Epinard Anywhere?

I stopped paying attention to the ink world for a couple years and return to find my beloved Sailor Epinard discontinued! Two years ago, no less. What a tragedy.

I know Tokiwa-Matsu is supposed to be similar, and I've ordered a bottle, but I know nothing can replace dear Epinard. Is it available anywhere? Even if I have to pay shipping from Australia or wherever... I just want to find it!

I will honestly dare you to tell the difference between Epinard and Tokiwa Matsu...

And this is side by side.... Imagine if they are not side by side. ;)

Well, side by side, I'd still say that the one to the left has a half a tick less black but a quarter of a tick more yellow.

They do look different, left one is lighter than the right one. As for which component one lacks, I cannot pinpoint.

You're a year too late, else I would've helped. :(

I gave mine away. It annoyed me. It was almost the best green ever but at the same time wasn't.

Bottles appear on ebay from time to time. Keep 'em peeled.

Best of luck.

Well, I know immediately that the one on the right is Epinard... ;)

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit it's not totally rational... But Epinard is so rich and inky that it looks almost black in some nibs--something I can really use everyday. Tokiwa Matsu, I dunno. We'll see.

And is true... I can see that, but is also true that they are VERY similar. Is the same hue.

Point is, ink is very paper and pen dependent... if they are this close (same paper and pen), you wouldn't tell the difference with different paper and pens.

Well, I take it all back. I just got my bottle of Tokiwa Matsu in the mail, and boy, I like it even more than Epinard! :yikes:

Epinard was already discontinued when I started with fountain pens. That is a pity. Maybe they will bring it back. I do have Tokiwa-matsu, and LOVE IT.

I have tried Tokiwa-matsu and Epinard, and although I find them quite close I prefer Tokiwa-matsu. :)

If I leave Epinard in a piston filler, it darkens to almost black :(

i used it with fine nib, and noticed it to. Although I found it still green, just like dark forest kind of green. Now based on that wonder Miurai how dark could become. I thinking about it to buy.
