Hi, does anyone have a clear writing sample of J Herbin's Lie de The versus Sailor's Rikyu Cha ? Is it worth getting Rikyu Cha you already own Lie de The? I can't find any good comparison photos... Thanks in advance!

Lie de The looks nothing like Rikyu-cha and behaves even less like it.

I recommend buying it and writing a short comparison. I think you'll be very satisfied with the writing experience of the Sailor ink.

Good luck.

Das leben ist wie ein Perpetuum Mobile mit ein Mangel..... Immer im Bewegung jedoch nicht unendlich. (life is like a troubled Perpetuum Mobile ever moving but not for ever)

Tricked throughout the centuries...

For centuries people had been tricked by kings & "religion-alism"

In the 20th century people got tricked by communism

Today people get tricked by (neo)capitalism :)

Definitely. Rikyu-cha is way better in all aspects: behaviour, flow, lubrication, saturation, sheen, colour...

Unfortunately I cannot get my hands on them now... :( It seems to be the most popular in the latest re-release. Thanks though!

That's a matter of opinion. I like and use Lie de The. It's a different colour than Rikyu-cha. Not better or worse, just different. Furthermore, I have had zero problems with Lie de The in any of the categories listed, nor in any particular pen (ranging from fine to broad and including flexible fountain pen nibs and dip pens).

However, Rikyu-cha has a larger shading range, in my experience, so I will likely be using it with broader and more flexible nibs. At the moment the Lie de The is my ink du jour for my one and only battered old Waterman 52 - and it is perfect. :P

My beef with The is a combination of its draggy dryness on the page and color shift after the EU-forced reformulation from the shade I originally liked. I bought a bottle of the Sailor. But then with my OBB nibs, I don't want to feel like I'm chiseling words on the page.

I like Lie de The too. It's different to Rikyu cha, and in a nice way. :)

So...............

Sailor Rikyu-Cha. Nice colour, eh. Does anyone have an inside information on when this will be available at the regular UK suppliers?

Sailor UK advised me ages ago that they were getting these new inks, but nothing seems to have happened yet. I haven't found any stockists.

You can easily buy it from Voice on Rakuten though. He's a really nice seller. :)

Thanks for the info. With about 0.7L of ink yet to use in my ink drawer, I'm trying to be good and not order any more.

But this ink just sounds too tempting.

I wonder if the (new)(old)new Four Seasons line will be priced even higher than the current line (GBP16.20 per bottle is the best I can find).

ETA: Specified currency.

What currency is BTL?

The new ones costs anywhere between 950 yen to 1080 yen here, which is same as the cost of older seasonal inks.

If you have 0.7L of ink, you certainly need more. :)

I have around 7L of ink. :)

As for rikyu-cha, I am waiting for the current fill in my pen of Purple Heart to get over. Purple Heart is just disappointing after Nodaiko Violet and I need something better. I'll fill it up with rikyu-cha once I finish 6ml of ink in the pen. Writes about 35 pages with one fill and I have just written 5. Long way to go. :(

Apologies. Currency is GBP. /btl is per bottle :)

I bought my laptop in Canada and there is no pound symbol...and I'm far too lazy to change the keyboard setting.

If ever you want the £ sign the alt code is 0163 although my lap top has no number lock, yours may be the same.

Thanks. I am in the same boat as you.

I could also open up character map and copy+paste. I'll probably use the ISO 4271 code in future for clarity.

Oh, my . . .

http://www.taskyprianou.com/me_thunderbolt.jpg

My bottle (a Christmas pressie from the kids) arrived a few moments ago but I couldn't resist dipping into it before sealing it up and popping it under the tree until Christmas.

Wow!

Dare I say it . . . I may prefer it to Cigar. I adore the colour change which is more drastic. It's magical, almost Iron Gall in its behaviour. Lgsoltek, you're right - It goes down murky green and dries up nigh on exactly the same tone, shade and colour as Cigar.

Looking forward to playing a lot more with this in the New Year.

I think I must have weird vision or something! To me Cigar & Rikyu-cha aren't exactly the same, & I see a difference.

However, if I had to say which was the most drastic of Sailor green-to-brown changing inks, it would actually neither be neither of these two.

I can't see any difference in the written line but yes the Ricky Cha is a little greener in the wash.

Go on, tell us . . . which Sailor is the Green to Brown changing King ????
