Not being funny...but I've just received a sample of J Herbin Lie de The today... Is it a million miles off from this one in terms of colour?

 

 

Not a million miles... but not the same.. Both Rikyu-Cha and Lie De The are very pen/paper dependent. There might be a combination in which they both will look very close. In general, I will have both... they are both gorgeous.

All right, you ink alchemists--how about mixing just a bit of KWZI Hunter Green in some Lie de Thé? In the right proportions it just might work.

i really like this brown ink. how come my rikyu-cha looks different? mine looks much more green, more like olive green. are you sure yours is rikyu-cha? or maybe mine is NOT rikyu-cha?

There is a Green Rikyu-cha and a Brown one.

 

You must have the green one.

Good news . . . This is looking really promising. 1 part Hunter Green, 1 part Lie de Thé is very nice.

 

Bad news . . . I'm out of Lie de Thé so can't tweak things any further :(

Seriously, this does look promising. I have some Lie de Thé, and a bottle of Hunter Green is on the way from Vanness as we speak.

 

I may try 1 part Hunter Green to 2 parts Lie de Thé.

I've just tried 1 Hunter Green with 1 Kiowa Pecan ( I hardly ever use Kiowa Pecan as it takes forever to dry )

 

YUMMY!

 

The result is lovely, much browner and the "split" is still evident. Both are keepers thanks for the inspiration. :)

I've tried them on two types of paper, and they almost look like totally different ink:

Weird indeed! I've never seen it so blue as in the second image! What paper is that?

The brand name is Paperholic and the manufacturer/seller is in Taiwan.

I have the impression you have any ink we name!
