Eastern Brown - Bookbinders Snake Ink

Bookbinders is an Australian online store that creators claim to be "on a relentless quest in search of products that will fire the imagination of the 21st century writer". There may be something to their words - the company presents their products in attractive and inspiring way. Some time ago Bookbinders started to offer Snake Ink to their customers. The ink is sold in 30 ml bottles inspired in design "by the wily snake oil salesmen of the early 1900’s, and in colour by the beautiful and dangerous snakes of the world".

  4. Everglades Ratsnake (orange)
  5. Red-belly Black (black)

Eastern Brown Snake ink is well behaved and I rather enjoy the shading. Good stuff.

Thanks for another thorough review, Vis. I'm rather liking the snake inks you've reviewed so far. Snakes, however, frighten me... big time.

I enjoy watching snakes on photos or from far away. Happily in Poland there's just one venomous snake - Vipera berus - and it's not really agressive unless you stand on it. Also it's rare - I've "met"this viper maybe 8 times so far in different forests / mountains.

I don't think Cyber6 cares much about colours unless it sheens like charlie :P :P :P

Nah.... ;)

Me neither...

Thanks Vis, this looks like a nice ink. Think I'll have to look at this range next time I buy some TR notebooks from Bookbinders.

Hi Visvamitra!

Thanks again for the review & comparisons.

Out of all these browns , i have pelikans brilliant brown, which, in your comparison seems to be bit orangy & bookbinders seems to be real brownier ink.

Curious to see how bookbinders brown will look in relation with waterman havana brown.

I feel watermans havana brown should be something like caramel papier plume, kindly correct me. Also, inputs welcomed too :))

Arvind.

Best regards,

Arvind.
