Montblanc Heritage Rouge & Noir: Reinventing Men’s Accessories Around The Theme of The Serpent

A tribute to 110 years of refinement and sophistication

As an homage to 110 years of fine craftsmanship, Montblanc introduces a collection of new men’s accessories to coincide with the launch of the Heritage Rouge & Noir writing instruments. Designed around the theme of the serpent, a reference to the serpent clip design of one of the Maison’s 1920s writing instruments, the assortment of cufflinks, tie bar and bracelet reimagine the creature with contemporary masculine refinement. A prevalent artistic motif during the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods, the serpent not only represents desire, power and mystery, it is a powerful symbol of rebirth and renewal. In a fitting tribute to the Maison’s quest for excellence since 1906, the serpent and other motifs referencing the pioneering spirit are used for the first time in men’s accessories with unexpected designs made from the finest materials.

Designed to be paired with the Ultimate Serpent Limited Edition 1, a one-of-a-kind writing instrument that sets new records with the quantity of gold used and the rare Montblanc Diamond that crowns it, a pair of solid red gold cufflinks features the special diamond cut in the shape of the Montblanc emblem. Numbered 1/1, the cuff links feature a skeletonized frame for the display of the unique 1,91ct F/VVS1 and 1,92ct F/VVS1 Montblanc Diamonds.

The 1906 Heritage Edition honours the Maison’s founders: Alfred Nehemias, August Eberstein and Claus Voss with three one-of-a-kind pairs of cufflinks in yellow gold, white gold and red gold. Fascinated by the many mechanical innovations happening abroad, the trio came together to develop a new writing instrument setting in motion a revolution in writing culture. This pioneering spirit is captured in a design based on the cardanic suspension compass, evoking the innovations linked to the golden age of sea travel that inspired them, and their constant quest to push boundaries. In a technical feat, a brilliant Montblanc diamond is suspended at the centre of the cufflink, rotating slightly like a real compass with a hemisphere visible from the side.

The Heritage Rouge & Noir Limited Edition solid red gold cufflinks underscore the knowhow the Maison has cultivated for over a century, evident in the most skilled goldsmithing. A serpent hypnotically curves around to forms the cuff link with its body intricately engraved with scales. While the front end of the cuff link formed by the coiled upper body and the head of the creature, its coiled tail forms the back end of the cuff link. The design is available in different versions, each with a different stone used for the eyes of the serpent: ruby, sapphire or emerald. Each of the three Heritage Rouge & Noir Limited Editions in red gold is a limited edition of just three pieces.

A collection of sterling silver accessories with an oxidized finish completes the Heritage Rouge & Noir collection. The silver cufflinks in a coiled serpent shape with a scaled body are enhanced with red lacquered eyes.

The sidled upper body and the head of a serpent form the front side of a tie bar, while the slithered tail of the serpent forms the reverse of the elegant accessory designed to bring a touch of sophistication to any formal outfit.

A bracelet of black woven leather features a unique closing: the tail of the serpent coils three times around one end of the black leather band with the tip of the tail visible on the front side of the bracelet, while the other end of the bracelet is held by the head of the serpent. The end of the black leather band forms a loop through which the serpent head enters from the back and curls to the front side of the bracelet.

The serpent is the creative inspiration for a collection of accessories that pushes boundaries, as the mythical creature curves, undulates and coils to form innovative yet sophisticated pieces. The Heritage Rouge & Noir Men’s Accessories celebrate the Maison’s desire for the highest quality translated into ultimate performance, true innovation and the finest craftsmanship and values that continue to drive Montblanc today.

Thank you all, great you like it :).

It is a fair amount of work to make these images fit here, as they are in a strange colour space and very, very large in size, probably meant for printing :).

Since you like it, it was worth the effort, however :).

Warm regards, Wim

And what is Montblanc doing for the Asian market? They don't like snakes as one might remember with the Agatha Christie. So Montblanc released the same pens with a dragon clip ...

Will there be another asian edition on their heritage pens and accessoires with dragons?

For mother's sake, stick to pens! Leave snake jewelry to Bvlgari and Cartier!

Oh piffle, I'd never wear Bvlgari, and can't afford Cartier... and netither owns the depiction of the snake.

If the silver cufflinks are priced right, then I'll seriously consider buying a pair, and then scout out an old Agatha Christie triple set of FP/ballpoint/pencil...

It would be interesting if MB also released dragon editions for the Asian markets... I remember my local pen store got a triple set of Imperial Dragon when MB originally released them, they sat in the display there long enough to get marked down, and I had no money at all... :crybaby:

Wim, could you post images of the clutch? I am also interested in the steamer bag but other than the instagram photos, I have not seen it referred again.

Hi gerigo,

I looked, but couldn't find any images of the steamer bag - it is only mentioned in the text, no images received -, or separate images of the clutch bag.
