Diamine Classic Green

Announcing Diamine's new 'Classic Green' ink. I've just been given the go-ahead to post this simple review but must say in advance that the computer I'm using at the moment doesn't show the colour as precisely as my old one did, even after calibration. So hopefully, comparing this ink to others that some of you will have, will be a better option.

I's a great, old-fashioned green and I'm pleased that Diamine allowed me to have a hand in the 'blend' as it were. It will probably be available within the month and there are working on the barcodes and labels at the moment. One or two of my letter-writing recipients will have seen this already so hopefully they can comment on the colour as well.

The soak tests below were done with my usual timing of a rinse followed by a 30 minute 'bath'.

I really like this colour and hope it will be well-received.

Thanks for the preview, Good Captain. It doesn't seem much different from the good old Green-Black - or am I mistaken?

Looks very similar to the DIamine Racing Green, but not quite as dark as the MB British Racing Green. It's interesting to see what colors are left behind after the soak.

Or the monitors at my university are really poorly calibrated, or the ink looks rather black-ish?

I was wondering the same thing....

I love Classic Red -- it's what I think the color red should be. It doesn't lean pink or orange or burgundy: it's right smack in the middle of the color spectrum, IMO.

Classic Green though? Not so much....

Exciting, I love a dark murky green but can't quite see its subtle nuances yet. Looking forward to more posts from you soon ! :)

I'll sort out another image as it is definitely not as black as the scans show. Many apologies but I wanted to get it up and live, as it were, as soon as I was allowed. The comparisons I have on paper are really quite distinct and I think it fills a gap in their range. So do they, otherwise they wouldn't have gone ahead, would they?

There is the Classic Red already. We picked the 'Classic' for this new green to avoid any possible confusion with anything to do with the words 'racing' or British', for obvious reasons...

I have just realised what was wrong with the scanner. The 'image adjustment' setting had been check as 'auto' whereas normally I have it set to 'off'! So here are the first two sheets again, showing the subtleties in the new Classic Green.

I can see clearly now, as the song goes. Many thanks, Good Captain. It's a good ink that's going on my wish list.

Now this looks much more attractive. I think Diamine needs to expand it into a "Diamine Classic" line!
