Green For Spring! Please.

Hello. It's been a while. I've been in the market for the 'perfect" green for years. Such a difficult color, so many variations. I'll never have "perfect", but want close. I have the Mont Blanc 'Irish Green" & "J.Herbin Lierre Sauvage in the darker shades. Others much lighter or "Off" green such as J.H. "Verte Olive" & some w/ blue or turquoise hues. I want something along the lines of the first two I mentioned, but a hint or two lighter ai'm looking at "Kwly green & their "Meadow Green". One other is the Noodler's Eel series Gruene. They have the non-el, but I swear it looks lighter than the regular Gruene.

I just need more greens in my arsenal. Any aficionados or lover of greens: I need your advice please. I'm open to other maker's as well... Thanks & Best, LeRoy

Do you mean KWZI green... (pronounced "quee-zzy") ?? .. OOOPS, I just read your edit on KELLY Green

 

 

There are a bunch of greens out there, lets reduced the "pool"... Tell me which brand you have easy access and you like price and behavior of it.. .and I can suggest greens in the brand for you to try.

I really enjoy Diamine Kelly Green ~ it looks like spring grass on a sunny day, and I love how it looks in my TWSBI Diamond 580.

One thing I do when I'm looking for something specific ... I go to the Goulet Pens or Wonder Pens websites and "shop by colour" ... Both these sites order the inks by colour and have samples or swatches. It makes for interesting comparison.

Currently I have my Metropolitan Pop fp in green (w/medium nib) inked up in Iroshizuku's chiju-rin.

This is a green of the newest leaves budding in the March winds of Texas. I'm celebrating the return of life.

Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Green is my go to for spring green. Ever since I traded for it from a fellow member here, it stays inked in at least one pen. Can be a bit feathery when in a broad nib though. But perfect in my Nemosine 0.6mm stub/italic

I like Alt-Goldgrün (when it's fresh, before it's had a chance to darken, it's quite a spring colour imo) and Chiku-rin.

My favorite green is Rohrer & Klingner Verdura. It is a lovely medium green. While I haven't tried them, I have heard that KWZI has some nice greens.

Another really nice green is L'Artisan Pastelier Classique Vert Luminere. Vanness Pens has ink samples that might help.

 

Update - Vanness does not carry the Classique line, only Callifolio (which I think are better). You might give Callifolio Teodora a try, although it does have just a bit of a blue undertone. But it does sheen nicely on non absorbent papers like Tomoe River.

Based on your preferences, I'd say Diamine Meadow would be right up your alley.

Another vote here for R&K Alt-Goldgrun. And I'm really liking KWZI Green-Gold #2 (standard, not IG), which is a bit lighter in shade, but still very legible in the F nibbed Vector currently sporting it. (I have to say I didn't like Diamine Kelly Green because it was *too* light to really be legible: but both of these other inks are fine, IMO).

I haven't tried it and the price is ridiculous but I really like the look of Caran d'Ache Delicate Green -- reminds me of spring.

Blackstone Daintree Green is a great spring/summer green. Anderson has it in the US.

Mine are Akkerman Hofwartier Groen # 28 & another which is very similar, Bung Box Happiness by Sailor, the only added value is the neat Sailor 'vase" bottle & the label with a picture of a smiling "Pikachu!" They are the "bright" greens that two of my favorite trees exhibit when they first leaf out for Spring, then both turning a darker shade after that first vibrant green appearance.
