For non Japanese speakers, a good proxy is looking at Nakaya event page

http://nakaya.org/en/events.aspx

since they go to most pen/stationery fairs in Japan. Similarly, Platinum maintains a similar event page in English:

http://www.platinum-pen.co.jp/event/eevent.html

It is my understanding that the events at Maruzen and Mistukoshi take place every year in the first two weeks of March.

Major pen shows are Maruzen, Takashimaya, fountain pens of the world in Kobe and then another one in Kobe by Nagasawa oen den the same one who hosts the FPs of the world but only on a smaller scale, I forgot if there's one in Osaka but I'm not sure when exactly the events in Kobe are typically held with in august and september

Sailor also posts info in their events page but in Japanese

What a delightful post! Thank you so much. Definitely inspires a trip to a Japanese pen show (let alone Japan!) in the future...

WOW, great info and I love your pen holders.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I HATE Sailor!!! Well, I don´t, but why do they always keep the cool stuff restricted to the japanese market only?

Anyone knows where I can find that burgundy Pro Gear mini?

It hasn't been officially released yet. A series of chance meetings while searching for pens led us to a super secret rendezvous where we saw many great wonders, including the pens Koofle drew for his post.

Now if only they would consider pairing this gorgeous burgundy resin with ruthenium accents....

I don't know if "not officially released" means it will be released at some point or not. Seemed like it MIGHT be released later this year but it seemed iffy.

Keep a look out for it. It may turn up in their catalog at some point. They obviously made some. Have no idea the numbers.

Sorry! It was apparently a small production run from a few years back, that's what I remember the store clerk/crazy sailor fan saying. I mean seriously, putting a full size 21K nib on a mini body.... Anyway, the best we can hope for is another production run in the future! In the meantime, keep on buying Sailor products so they can continue making awesome pens!
