Parker 15 Just Arrived

So a week ago I saw this ad:

"Vintage Parker 15 Rollerball"

The photos weren't the best maybe but it showed the pen as per below;

A few days later I won the auction for $5 and was very curious as to what I would receive.

Fast-forward to today and this little, to me, beautiful gem arrived:

I really like it and think it was well worth the money

I do have one question though....

In the cap, underneath the clip there is this small hole.

Does anyone know what that is for? Is it by design, was it used to clip in some promotional clip of some kind. etc?

It obviously doesn't have any impact on the use of the pen - I'm just curious.

That is a vent hole. And yes, it is there by design.

Oh, to, I assume, make the cap close easier w/out having any trapped air inside?

Thanks, really appreciate it.

This will be the pen I'm bringing with me tomorrow when I'm heading to the local coffee shop :)
