Makes me happy? The ink that someone has used to write a cheque paying me some money.

Again, can we make this any Inky Topic O'Day?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

May beloved purple inks are usually always capable to cheer me up: Diamine Imperial Purple, Majestic Purple and Sailor Kobe Sannomiya Panse.

Dark greens and maroons make me happy. A large part of my ink collection has been formed in the quest for the ink that is "just right" for each. At the moment, in no particular order, the inks that make me happiest are Noodler's Texas Live Oak, Sailor Jentle Oku-Yama, Diamine Woodlands Green, Diamine Syrah and Sailor Jentle Miruai.

I probably ought to include a blue, but the fact that my current daily carry does not include a pen inked with blue tells me it would not be realistic...

Current Daily Carry: Pilot Custom 743 with 14k Posting nib (Sailor Kiwa-Guro), Sailor 1911L Realo Champagne with 21k Extra Fine nib (Sailor Tokiwa-Matsu). Platinum Century 3776 Bourgogne (Diamine Syrah), Nakaya Portable Writer Midori with 14k Extra Extra Fine nib (Lamy Peridot), Pilot Vanishing Point Stealth Black with Extra Fine nib unit (Pilot Blue Black), a dozen Nockco DotDash index cards of various sizes and a Traveler's Notebook.

There are inks I enjoy, but only one I would say makes me happy. Diamine Asa Blue. In many ways not particularly special, but it really does seem to look happy on the page. It manages to lift the spirit.

My happy, feel good ink is Iroshizuku Tsuyu-Kusa. I really like the color blue and the light but vibrant color of Tsuyu-Kusa mixed with the standard Iro performance makes me a happy person. For me Tsuyu-Kusa is a pleasure to write and read.

Don't mind me, I like to ramble... A LOT

I love bright, obnoxious pinks. They cheer me up with their audacity.

Me too! What are some of your favs? I haven't had a chance to try too many yet but I love Diamine Hope Pink and Iroshizuku Tsutsuji. I want to try Sailor's Dancer too.

Teal!!! (Cool blue-greens) I've only tried Emerald of Chivor and Noodler's Turquoise so far and I love them!

Pinks, teals, murky greens and dusky purples always make me smile.

It's the only green I like so I'll mention it here - De Atramentis Mint Turqoise. It's such a unique color. I find it quite expensive at 12.95 for the bottle + shipping but its pretty.

What an entertaining thread! Such wonderful stories, and such variety of choices! I never thought about trying a pink ink, but I think I will now! Since I don't have any, I'll just water down some Oku-yama, which I do enjoy greatly.

But for sheer joy, it has to be Orange Indien. To me, it captures California Poppy flowers so perfectly, which never fail to put a smile on my face.

A close second, which I'm adding partly because some people said it made them sad (not that that's a bad reaction!) is Fuyu Syogun, because I LOVE the grey cloudy days of the Pacific Northwest, my adopted home.

Thank you so much to the OP and everyone for sharing =-)

My pens: Penny the Penmanship, Dot the Metropolitan, Pallas the Parallel, Neoma the High Ace Neo, Petra the Petit1, Calliope the Kakuno (Also, a Sheaffer No-Nonsense)

My bottles of ink: Sailor Epinard & Ultramarine; Mysterious Blue (Wishlist: Oku Yama)

Thank you Amber for making both the HAPPY and SAD topics TODs

They belong together like the song says "a horse and carriage"

They're great topics that provide a lot of insight and introspective thought

I never thought of ink in this manner

Herbin Bleu Pervenche. Reminds me of the water in the Carribean.

Never tried alt-goldgrün. How does it feel on paper? I picture it as a brassy verdigris.
