Oruc,

The pen is beautiful and reflects the abundant talent that is required to create such a lovely pen. Some pens combine a black section with a colorful barrel. I'm glad that you reversed this. I also like the story of the pen.

Regards,

Craig

There's a wonderful piece of furniture in the Geffrye Museum in London - John Evelyn's cabinet, bought in Paris in 1652.It's a terribly sober piece of furniture, very dark, positively puritan... until you open up the doors, and suddenly there's a blaze of ornate marquetry in fruitwoods and ivory, really exuberant, overdone ornament. Surprise, surprise!

I get just the same feeling of joy from seeing this pen - the wonderful surprise when you uncap the sober black-and-silver pen and see that happy kingfisher-bright section. A little bit of theatre every time you write!

Too many pens, too little time!

That is a beautiful pen, Oruc.

Congratulations!

I just went to your site. Will you be working on other models, soon?

And would it be possible, if one wanted, to have Pandora's Box pen's section in other colors?

I had a wooden pen made, several months ago, using the same idea ;) (I had put a photo, but edited it, because it is not nice to pollut your thread with someone elses's work).

I don't have anything to add that hadn't already been said, but I wanted to pile on. Beautiful work, and a great surprise under the cap!

I also particularly like the fact that you can see the ink window so clearly when the pen is capped.

Best Regards, greg

Thanks Greg. I wish a supriseful life you :) If you like sruprises of course :))

@CraigN

Switching the materials was the idea of the owner of this pen. He has a great appetite, i think.. Thanks for kind words..

@amk

I would like to make a similar pen to John :) However time never forgives :)

@fountainpagan

I am working on other pens recently, Unfortunately, I am not planning to work with models. Any pen coming out from my workbench should be as exclusive as possible to owner..

I will be thinking on chaning material if any similiar pen is ordered :)

I do love the shape of this pen. How does that bulge feel when it rests near in between the thumb and forefinger? Was the bulge added to help with posting or was it an aesthetic choice?

@flummoxed

Thanks for comment. The bulge is considered as both aesthetic and ergonomic solution to the pen. Because it has a large and long barrel, we needed to break monotonous gesture of the barrel. We should be fair and careful while turning it, anytime the bulge might be agitated. More, I believe in visual identity is relevant to its ergonomy.

The cap is postable, yet there is no need for posting it, when posted it is becaming a huge stick :) The bulge is starting from frontier of inkwindow, it expands and goes to (almost) the same diameter with cap threads.
