How To Care For Hard Rubber/celluloid Pelikans?

Some leathers should not be used on fountain pens....from my reading.

Especially in hot humid climes. Even rubber sac pens died early out there where the ED is still king.

I wish I could help you.....you have tried a light rub of Semichrome?

Though your problem sounds a bit deeper than what Semi-chrome can do.....Nova?...Novas? from the States...a 3 stage polishing system, might be of help. It can clear up jet plexiglass.

A long time ago I'd wanted some but they didn't want to ship to Germany.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

Hi Bo Bo

How about the blue celluloid of the Lapis 1935 cap top which has discoloured from blue to purple.. I didn't use any polishing material on the pen. It was kept for sometime in the pen case.

Regards

Daeng

It could be instability of the celluloid, Omas's blue royale is famous for turning into purple royale.

When I bought mine (the Jade and the Lapis) I was told that there is a tendency for the Binde to develop a 'wrinkle' or slight distortion, particularly the Jade. You cannot see it in mine but if I close my eyes and run my fingers up and down the sides of the binde I can just barely detect a slight wave or wrinkle in the material. Try this test on you pens, I would like to hear how many others have a similar experience,

Beautiful pens otherwise with no discoloration so far.

I've tried both the Lapis & Jade. Both bindes are smooth when I run my finger on them.
