A Converter For Wingsung 659?

well, I just tried this new pen...

and I wonder: yes, its included converter is a bit different than other pilot.

Pilot squeeze doesn't fit, cartridges need to be opened as can't be pierced with the nipple...and are forced a bit when inserted.

I don't own con 50 70 but I read that they also have some issue with this pen.

 

So...what about your 659?

Pilot do not use International Standard Cartridges on all their marks - so the Pilot convertor and Pilot cartridges are unlikely to fit. You will probably need an international standard fit for the WingSung.

Alas, no. The 659 will definitely not take international standard carts or converters. Once more for luck - the Wing Sung 659 does not take international standard cartridges or converters.

Incidentally, Pilot uses international standard c/c on their European market MR model, so, urm, well... Let us draw a veil over post #2 perhaps, and pretend it didn't happen.

ok. but it's a bit OT.

I know that ws659 should take pilot cartridges.

What bothers me is that even pilot cartridges don t fit well. squeeze conv doesn t fit at all.

 

so...instead of the included converter that is not sold separately as replacement, what can i use?

Wanna go further OT? I realised last night that some of the Plumix pens are international standard cart too... (Sorry, sorry! It's just once misinformation goes by unchallenged, next thing you know it's accepted as fact and then it's really hard to correct.)

 

Back to the 659. Must admit this trouble over the c/c size/cartridge piercing has stayed my hand in buying one so I'm rather throwing out unverified suggestions as they occur to me here. I just had a breeze round all the threads on it, and it seems even the frequent saviour of the odd-cartridged pen, turning it into an eyedropper, is not practical owing to holes in the barrel. Is it feasible to fill them? Several people seem to be happy enough with Pilot cartridges though, they just need to be pre-pierced, as you say. Dunno if you have many genuine Pilot models, but fwiw many of them do seem need a fair bit of force to get the cartridges on too. If fitting and re-fitting a cartridge is a bit dodgy, maybe the good old sac-stuck-on-the-end-of-a-cut-off-cartridge squeeze filler? Clear sac would be nice, it being a demonstrator. It might actually look pretty good too. Anyway, fwiw.

On the topic of 659's but slightly OT...How do you like the pen as a writer, the cartridge issue notwithstanding? It is on my list of pens to try (though not very high) - the clear pen should look good writing Dragon's Napalm...

Wingsung converters for 659 are sold separately. In fact, every component of Wingsung 659 can be purchased separately.

 

On the Pilot cartridges issue, it is really a red herring. One can simply use a stick or pencil to pierce through the cover of the cartridge and insert the cartridge onto the nipple of the feed. No a difficult job at all!

I currently own some "genuine" pilot but in none of them cartridges fit too narrow. they insert perfectly. it's just the ws659, especially the EF section.

 

where did you find that converters?
