Tibaldi 18K Writing Samples?

Hi all guys,

i may have the opportunity to purchase a Tibaldi Iride with a Medium or a Fine18k nib, since i have a small handwriting i only use xf or fine nibs, i was wondering is something can provide a writing sample of 18k tibaldi nib of any size compared to a well known pen or tell me his experience with tibaldi 18k nibs.

If I am not mistaken i read here of fpn that i can simply pull out the nib and the feed of the iride and swapping the out with something else but i am not a fan of frankenpens and i'd prefer to use the original nibs.

To sum up are these nibs true to their size or are they more like visconti ones?

If worse comes to worse you could always send the pen to a nib meister to have the nib ground finer. They could also tune the pen for your optimal flow.

I hope other people correct me if I am wrong, but I think Tibaldis are made by Montegrappa. Further, I think Montegrappa nibs are made by Bock. Is it possible the more widespread knowledge of Bock/Montegrappa F and XF nibs is applicable to your situation?

 

Sorry that is not directly answering your question. My Montegrappa medium nib was so scratchy I bent the tines trying to get some ink out of the darn thing. A nibmeister worked on mine and it now flows beautifully. It also writes with a true medium line.

thank you for the rellies, i have nerver send any of my pens to a nibmeister so it will be the ultima ratio, in the mean time i purchased the tibaldi sporting the fine nib, hope the seller won't find a new home to the one with the medium nib any time soon
