Pilot mixable sepia seems to be right on, and is quite a stunning color. Too bad that's a cartridge only ink.....

My bottle of Poussiere de Lune is very old, and the color may not be the same. But I might find a scan later today.

PS: Just ran this up. But check Goulet swabs. Newer bottles may look more Deep Purple.

Thanks, Sailor, I'll see what I can do later today.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

  • 3 months later...

Not the best photo, but after some testing (and thanks to a letter from amberleadavis) I have come to the conclusion that KWZI Brown Pink is the color for me.

Thanks to all the suggestions, I only had to buy 3 sample vials before deciding on a bottle of the KWZI.

The other photo is too large to upload, but the other contenders were:

R&K Scabiosa (?) - too much of a dusty grey-purple

DeA Elderberry (scented) - this one was my runner up. A little more red, but decently close when diluted.

Noodler's BSIER - Nearly a black-red. A really pretty color that I would consider getting on its own merits, but not the color I was looking for.

Thank you all for contributing your thoughts and experience!

I'm glad to have been of help! I'm also glad you like the color.
