Switch Inks Quickly And Efficiently In The Pilot Parallel

I have two Pilot Parallel and I have a package of 12 inks for them.

I'd like to use the inks without being forced to empty a cartridge every time. For example, I could keep one pen with the main ink and switch the other one with the one I want to blend by touching the tips.

 

Is there a way to efficiently replace cartridges without having to throw away a lot of ink?

 

Maybe something like this https://billchance.org/2011/05/27/refilling-a-varsity/ would allow me to almost completely push back the ink from the feeder to the cartridge before taking it out.

 

Other ideas?
