Blue Lightning - Diamine Shimmertastic

Some time ago Diamine felt the urge to follow example of J. Herbin - they've decided to hit the market of glittering inks. The line of Shimmertastic inks premiered in 2015. Personally I dislike shimmering inks / inks with particles. I didn't expect to like this line. A friend of mine bought full line and sent me the whole bottles to review. I've tried them all. I don't like them but I'll review them. Maybe you'll like them more than me?

After strong punch from Diamine that offered ten colors I wonder with what 1670 ink J. Herbin will come this year?

Anyway there's ten inks in the line:

SHIMMERING SEAS

Blue Lightning is bright blue ink. It could be good without the particles.

These shimmer inks are growing on me. Glad to see some not-special-edition glittery inks out there.

Hmmm. Not sure about this one. I kinda like the color, but I'm worried that the silver dust doesn't show up well, because of how light the ink color is. I suspect it's one I'll have to actually get a sample of at some point, in order to really make up my mind.

In my experience the silver shows up really well! On Tomoe River it also shades nicely and has pinkish,reddish sheen on the outlines.

Thanks! Good to know. I was on a somewhat limited budget at the last pen show I went to, so I only got bottles of Shimmering Seas and the dark blue one with gold dust (forget the name offhand). I would have bought a bottle of Purple Pizazz, but nobody had any -- it was all sold out!

Great review but it's a bit pale for me. I'm not a fan of this kind of ink as a rule but the Shimmering Seas and Blue pearl are something else.

I have shimmering seas. I have to shake it (not a gentle shake as the bottle tells to) first before o fill the ink. Well, you got to have an fp that writes wet to see the better effect i think. My fp writes wet. I love this ink but i always think i haven't shaked the bottle enough because the glitters don't show evenly. Need a good lighting too to see
