Ode To The Vintage Black Parker

Hi,

With everyone sharing their collections recently- with many different colours and ranges.

Just thought I'd share my pure black vintage collection. When parker did more than one variation in the model.

i.e Junior, Ladies and sub variations.

Hopefully many more will follow suit.

Kind regards

A nice theme collection.

A very nice collection. Black goes with anything.

I have only two: a 1946 Parker 51 that I inherited from my dad, and a 1992 LE duofold that was a gift from my mom. Both are black, but the 51 has a gold filled cap.

Baptiste knew how to make a short job long

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

Rick, wouldn't you show us your black Jotter collection? I gather you have a collection of those too.

Argentina-made 45.

Wow. Looks like a 61/65 clip on the pen.

Edited to add:

Rather, the whole pen looks like a 61 or a 65.

Then should consider adding the P25 in matte black... Those are fairly rare birds in good nick, my one is terribly chipped & polished. Nonetheless it's still in my desk drawer waiting for the next time I forget to bring a pen with me to work in the morning. Bought it new in 1980. The BP & Felt tip are long lost now, but not the FP.

Regards,

Richard.

I have a few, mostly because it's what I found at the time I got them (not a big fan of black, either in ink OR pens, but when you start going vintage you take what you can get...).

1) Urban, M nib (because the boxed sets only ever seemed to come with black pens).

2) 45 GT Deluxe, 14K M nib (first semi-vintage pen and a sweet writer)

3) Parker 51 Vac, 14K F (?) nib (got this one with no other bidders on Ebay, because it had the cap for a 51 Special)

4) Parker 51 Aero, 14K EF nib (normally don't care for EFs, but I got this one a few years ago at the Ohio Pens Show from Pendleton Brown; might go to my husband but if he doesn't keep track of the cap -- the way he doesn't with BP caps -- I'll stage an intervention...)

5) Parker Vector (calligraphy set with 4 nib units)

6) Parker Vector stubbed B nib (I think it may have been a home-done stub grind by the seller; had to replace the collar and the barrel as well....)

7) Parker 61 14k(?) M(?) nib (my first 61, and I don't understand why people don't like capillary fillers and wanted to replace them)

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
