Titanium Nibs

I would, if you can cope with the possibility of getting one that isn't very flexy. I like the non flexy one too though.

Most of my pens have steel nibs apart from the 146 so I'm kinda used to a stiff nib. Although, Having said that, I would be good to experience writing with a nib that you have to be a little more aware of

Thanks TXKat.

So when you say springy, do you have to be mindful how much pressure you apply when writing?

I've noticed that I tend to press more when I'm writing faster.

Hello,

I am awaiting a Namisu Nova with a Ti M nib, fingers crossed. I am not looking for flex but a soft springy nib. hope this lives up to the expectation.

Regards,

Prads

I suspect neither of them will be firm. If you get a very flexible one it will do it with very little effort so be very careful not to overdo it. The firmer one won't flex to any great degree without damaging it (at least that's how it feels to me, I've never pushed it) but even in normal writing you will see a little variation.

What I was meaning and I should have chosen better words is responsive. It won't be one that you have to be thinking more about pressure and less about what is being written, so no worries.

Just a suggestion...let the pen float across the page....relax your hand...the ink and paper work together. No need to be mean to your pen, (pressing down). A light touch can be good and you may notice more variation by doing so. Just my thoughts. :D

Either way....and if you hate it when you get it, just send it to me, lolol! :P

So, what's your point?

Hey TXKat,

It took a while but the pen finally got to me.

The BIG selling point of this pen is definitely the nib. The Ti nib is amazing. you were right, it has a very different feel on the paper and the tines are pretty soft. You can get live variation with pressure but that's not the reason I got it so won't be doing that very much.

I have to say also that for a medium nib, it a wet nib. Lays down a decent amount of ink ... which is good. I like that. What this does highlight is the different viscosity of the different ink brands. Of the limited number of ink brands I have, The Pelikan inks seem to create the most amount of feathering. I went back to using Lamy inks for a while and have only just inked it up with Montblanc's Lavender Purple today. Will give the purple a workout in the next week or so and see how it performs.Kinda makes me wonder if I should have gone with a Fine nib instead of the Medium ... All in all, It's happy face all round here :D

Glad you like it and are not suffering from "buyers remorse"! I do enjoy my titanium nib.

Thank you Bops for sharing your impressions.

I am at the moment awaiting eagerly an EF Ti Nib from Namisu - just the nib - to put it in my Delta Unica and I hope it works quite the same like your M-nib.
