Hero 338

Hej,

did anyone disassemble the Hero 338 ?

A Hero 616 guide i found on Youtube doesn't seem to work for me - unless quasi-lethal force is used.

And if anyone was able to disassemble it: Did you manage to make it write wetter?

Many thanks.

A short update for those being interested in:

I was able to get the feed and nib out - there was some sort of adhesive on both, like that of a very cheap scotch tape residue.

I cleaned both units and sanded the feed a bit flatter on top of the backwards ink channel and widened the front ink channel by carving a little bit.

The nib was simply widened just a very tiny bit by pushing it down.

Now it writes like a champion, even though the pen is a bit too thin for my taste - but for that price it's very, very good.

Best regards

I'm curious to hear an update on this. Have you had any leakage or ink burping out the front problems with this pen since you disassembled it? After you took it apart, did you use anything to seal it again?

I took apart 2 Hero 616s because they kept burping ink and put them back together using silicone grease on the threads to reseal them. However, they still burped afterwards. Just wondering if there was a similar experience with the 338.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with all the Hero hooded nib pens I've used. No problems with my hooded Kaigelu though.
