Monster P45 Nibs

Khan, how is it that there are so many different kinds of Parker 45 nib's available in Pakistan ?

Simple. No or little interest in vintage FPS. So the demand and supply equation makes them abundantly available to the very very small community of vintage pen lovers.

You would have to come to a 'dangerous-to-live-in country - Pakistan - to be able to acquire these nibs. These are found everywhere over here. Lol.

And yes, you did show your deepest hate for those of us having these dangrous / threatening 45 nibs.

I used to order some Dollar pens and they have interesting stubs. Is stub important in writing Arabic? Just curious.

Yes. The piston filler Dollar demo with stub/italic nibs are meant to write Urdu with. Urdu has the same alphabets as those of Arabic and Persian. So these are meant to be used for Urdu, Arabic and Persian caligraphy.

Yes it is, and C is fine italic. I think the P45 stubs were just one size which is medium-ish, i.e. the S code; I've never seen anything suggesting Parker made other sizes classed as 'stub'.

hood, are these stub nibs?

And if yes, aren't the two different sizes? Or are these regular fine and medium nibs?

Edited to correct typos.

I wouldn't say so from those pictures, I would think they are standard fine or medium points. Which of the two though is another matter; the left looks bigger than the right, so you might say medium on the left and fine on the right, but I've seen fines that look like the one on the left, including an excellent one I have in a New Slimfold which has a wonderful character to write with.

Thank you, hood. And yes, the one that you say is on the left is medium and the other one is fine (my smart phone screen doesn't show them side by side though).

Thanks for all the great photos of 45 nibs. The variety is mind-blowing! I wonder why Parker used a different identification system of letters for the 45 than for most of their other lines. Does a complete chart of 45 nibs exist somewhere?

Yes, I have seen a complete chart showing the P45 nibs somewhere here on FPN. I would try to provide the link here in case I am able to find the thread.
