Orange - Omas

Omas inks are sold inlarge octagon-shaped bottle, that has been in use since it was first introduced in the 1930s. I like this design.

www.omas.com

At the moment Omas inks are available in eight standard colors:

  1. Black
  2. Blue
  3. Grey (New)
  4. Green
  5. Red
  6. Sepia
  7. Turquoise
  8. Violet

On different occasions they produced also limited edition inks, like:

  1. Amerigo Vespucci Red
  2. Green Italia
  3. Hong Kong Red
  4. Permanent Black
  5. Roma 2000 Blue
  6. Triratna Saffron

If I'll be able to put my hands on the samples, I'll review them all.

Sample of Omas Orange was send to me by Michael R. Thank you :)

I don't know much about this ink. It seems it was sold in cartridges. The color is quite nice but there's a lot of more interesting oranges on the market.

Thanks for the neat review! I really like this ink. It has something special, a deepness, although not at all "dark". A plasticity? BTH it also comes in bottles, like the ones you've shown (62 ml). Also only in the new silver box (shown). They change their boxes and bottle labels ever few years. It's the newest and came out about 3 months go, after the new grey.

Thanks for the review. I received this ink last month and have not had a chance to try it but from your review I will have to open this up after St. Patrick's day (Omas green from Monday till then). It looks like a perfect orange, not too red nor too light (orange). Thanks again.

Would you mind to say where you purchased it? Thank you.

Definitely more of a yellow-orange than a red-orange. Thanks for the review!

Hellianthus might be a tad yellow... I wonder if Sailor Apricot is closer.

I would buy a bottle if I could find a bottle, it seems to only be available in cartridges.. :(

Okay, okay, you asked fer it (ahh, c'mon, jus' kiddn').

First the real news as proof, 'kay? There's no need to shoot the bottle because as we all know, Omas doesn't say there (e.g. on the label or lid) what colour it is, so here's the box''s top and bottom...

As a check I had to look up in Google what ARANCIO means and sure enough... ORANGE.

I can give you the name and mail address of Thomas Maier, our big successor to Rolf Thiel (if you like): I already did same to another fan here.

Cheers!

What the heck... anybody can order (first cum first inked an all that....)

Thomas' inks – among them Omas' -- are be seen here...

http://www.ebay.de/sch/schreibstoff-shop/m.html

... but since I don't see orange there, I phoned him and got him to order a crate for you (plural) and he said he'll have it (Omas' Orange) in a week.

So order it now (if you like) under mail@schreibstoff-shop.de or phone him (http://www.schreibstoff-shop.de/) and tell him "Mike sent me".

15.90 Euros for the 62-ml bottle is a good price. I bought mine in a brick store here for 20.00 Euros months ago.
