Violet - St Dupont

St Dupont Paris is a brand name and manufacturer of lighters, collectible pens, handbags, perfumes (produced under license by Interparfums) and other gadgets using the trademark diamond-head pattern. The company has been producing luxury items since its founding in 1872. The founder of the brand, Simon Tissot-Dupont, was born in Savoy in 1847 - the company owes its initials to him. It seems at the moment they offer only two inks in bottle (black and blue) and two more in cartridges. SOme time ago their inky offer was wider and counted 5 inks:

5. Turquoise
   

Michael R. sent me samples of few (dozens) inks, St Dupont among others.

Violet was stunning ink. I'm not sure if the one sold currently in the cartridges looks familiar. ANyway the ink has great flow, nice lubrication and is quite water resistant.

Thanks again. Good review of a good ink. One of my favourite purples (or violets). To repeat what I said elsewhere (for those in need), this ink is now issued only in cartridges but there were a lot of bottles out until 2-3-4 years ago.

I bought cartridges from THE INK FLOW in San Antonio Texas. I have never found the violet available from another distributor. Most US retailers seem to only have blue, black or combination of the two.

It is lovely ink but pretty difficult to find. I have cartridges only, so I better keep liking the Lamy!

I was very lucky to find a bottle of this earlier in the year for a great price. I like it a lot more than the Lamy, although that is a nice ink too.
