Issues And Value Of The Jinhao X750 (Bought From Amazon.fr) - Video Review

I've just posted a review on Youtube about issues I've had with Jinhao X750 pens and what I think of them.

I had the exact same thing happen with a Jinhao 126, the eBay seller tried to tell me it was a user error, I sent pictures and he gave me back my money. The center part had come apart because the snap cap was just too tight for the glue they were using to keep it in the barrel. I offered to send the pen back, but he didn't want it. I have an x750, but the snap cap on it is much 'softer' and I've not had the same problem you had with mine. I replaced my Jinhao nib with a Goulet Pens nib and that made a world of difference in the performance of the pen.

Good to know I'm not the only one with this strong cap issue.

 

also I do intend to get another nib on these pens but I'm putting money aside for this since I'm more into inks than FP (funnily enough) so I have one pen for each ink, hence the Jinhaos lol.

This has never happened to me. It's usually the other way around: the inner cap is so tight it cracks. This has happened repeatedly with the Baoer 388 pens, as well as the Jinhao 450. It is fixable, by taking the inner cap sleeve out and taping it, but the fix will not last forever.

I really like the idea of having several of the same kind of pen for different inks! I'll bet it makes it a lot easier to determine ink properties with out pen variables. Magnus919, if you think her hands are small, you should see mine. I can write comfortably with the TWSBI Vac mini unposted, and pretty well with the mini for short notes

Tinkering around with the X450s and 750s I have I found that by dismantling the outer cap and inner cap and reassembling them with the inner cap not pushed in so far eases the tightness of the cap. Personally I have had the opposite issue (and then only with one of the dozen or so 450s & 750s I have) of the cap being a bit too loose for my liking so by gently tapping the plastic inner cap further into the outer and re-tightening the finial, the cap has become tighter.

 

Beyond that all my Jinhaos have so far been faultless and none have suffered from the section / nib separation issue. Luck of the draw I guess.

I watched your videos on paper Blanks again a nice video! I bought one for as a secret Santa gift for someone a while back and they do seem really nice. However I haven't bought one for myself as I never find anything worth while to write in this type of notebook.

My view normally looks like this. I don't have an X750 with me so here's an even thicker pen, the Jinhao 159.

Which is exactly the reason why I no longer buy these. I find them beautiful but too distractive or too themed already for my own purposes. I used them to hide all thedaily information about my disease then discovered doctors don't give a damn and devised a more simple system.
