Thought I'd share the result of stripping down a matte black Pilot Vanishing Point and setting to work on creating an aged, vintage brass look.

That is absolutely amazing! I love it. Congratulations on a superb result. Did you do the engraving work too?

Yes, I acid etched the pattern into the brass

You do realize that people are going to pressure you into starting a cottage industry to do this on their pens, don't you?

I've already been pinged :). I'm thinking about doing a run of a few pens and offering them up for sale. I'll let the group know when that happens.

Lovely result. Did you add something, such as clear coat today protect it?

No. I'm considering it, but I also like the idea of leaving it raw so the natural patina continues to grow. Raw copper and brass has that warm, organic quality I love

Wow, just wow.

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

Just be careful to account for all of the time you invest in the process so that you give yourself a reasonable return for your work.
