Beautiful ink, one of my favorites. I have used it extensively with a number of pens and nibs, and yes, it behaves much better in airtight caps. Never got any nib crud when using it in my Platinum Century 3776, for instance. In some chinese pens or even in my beloved Waterman Kulturs... yes, a lot of crud tends to form. It doesn't seem to do any harm though, and it is very easily cleanable.
