Meisterstück Solitaire Ballpoint Pen

Dear All,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, and I'm also conscious that this primarily a fountain pen site (!) but any advice would be gratefully received. I hope the following question does not breach forum etiquette...

I recently purchased a MEISTERSTÜCK SOLITAIRE BLUE HOUR MIDSIZE BALLPOINT PEN which, I have since returned. Unfortunately, every time the ballpoint made contact with the paper, I noticed an all too noticeable noise emanating from the spring. I'm not particularly 'heavy handed' so I suspect that this could have been a one off but having spoken to MB they advised that the metal spring against the platinum barrel might be conducive to such noise.

My question is whether anyone else has experienced this on the Solitaire or with or other pens? I have a LeGrand and it is extremely silent...

I would like to give the Solitaire another go as I really like the pen, but because I had to order the pen online (due to logistics, I'm not particularly close to my AD) I don't want a repeat! The other option I had in mind was the Ultra Carbon Starwalker.

Any and all advice much appreciated.

With thanks,

Francis

I have never noticed a noise with any of my Montblanc BPs (and I have several).

If you noticed a noise with one that you returned, then it's possible you might notice it again if you buy the same pen again. Maybe it's just that particular model that might make the noise.

I once tried writing with a carbon Starwalker BP and I noticed no noise. I don't have any metal Mb BP's unless you call the Jules Verne metal. That one doesn't make a noise.

I remember having a Le Grand BP that made a noise when I wrote with it. I sold it.

Never heard such noise issues and my 161 Le Grand BP is completely fine.

I have a number of MB ballpoints. None have had any noise issues. My favorite MB ballpoints are my StarWalkers and my 90 Years Solitaire Special Edition Classique BP. I really like the size of the StarWalker BPs from a year ago and previous years. Not a fan of the new SW BPs as I feel the tip is a little too far from the widest part of the grip section. Go for the Carbon! You can't go wrong with it.
