Aggie, you made Zwack's day. Thanks SO much for the generous PIFs! Congrats to both of you (and me, 'cause I'm surely going to get a chance to use that pretty red pen of Zwack's once it arrives, too  )!

Dear Members,

The numbers have been pulled and the results are:

The first number was #30, so the Platinum 3776 will find it's new home with ~~~ Pen2Paper.

The second number was #14, the Royal Red Lamy Studio will go to live with ~~~ zwack.

This PIF has been fun for me and I hope it was enjoyable for my fellow members.

To Pen2Paper & zwack congrats and PM your mailing info.

To the other FPers thank you for the entries, honesty and wonderful comments.

aggie

Congratulations to you both! And thank you from all of us for running such a generous and fun draw! :D

PIF = Pay it forward. Which means the person is offering the item to someone.

Sometimes one offers the item but asks for shipping costs to be paied by the winner, especially if it is an international one. But mainly the people offering the PIF offers shipping too, it depends.

Anyway, a PIF is always a generous gesture.

Congratulations to the winners :)

And again, Aggie, beautiful PIF, and spirit.

Pay It Forward - Basically doing a nice thing for someone with no expectation of anything in return, but instead done as a thank you for the nice things that have been done for you, or with the hope that the recipient will do something nice for others, or even both.

There is a movie called Pay It Forward, and I know that one of the local coffee shops has had a Friday Morning PIF when someone paid for their coffee and the next persons which got to at least six participants in a row paying for the next persons drinks. This was reported by number 5 in the sequence so I don't know if it went beyond six. (Sure that is equivalent to the first person paying for their own drink and that for number six, but anyone earlier could have broken the chain).

Individual PIFs have specific requirements depending on the person who created it... Some aimed at newbies, some with geographical restrictions, some for people who have been on FPN for a minimum length of time...

Geographical restrictions can be for interesting reasons... a typewriter which requires someone "local" because shipping cost would be ridiculous... Ink which is being given to people outside the country where it is available because it is cheap there but not shipped internationally by the manufacturer...

My wife and I have won several PIFs and also given away several pens in PIFs so far and I can see no reason that will stop.

I hope that this helps,

Z

Another Thank You!

Overwhelmed with the thoughtful generosity. That's the most important part of this special gift.

Then, finding the box in the mail on the way out late today.. it had to wait while i dismantled a display, then opening the box - in the car-too excited to wait till home - finding this lovely pen, That Fits My hand Just So!

Aurora Black ink had to come out for this pen. Total fumble with the converter. Undaunted I grabbed a new syringe - most landed in the pen - and Wow!

I see why the Platinum fine point is far too fine for you mr2txaggie.

But Not for ME  It's a dream pen.

You could not have found a more appreciate new owner nor a hand to fit it better.

I wanted to thank you Here on FPN where you so kindly offered this special PIF!

Picture, please! sample, please!

As I didnt know whether you meant me or pen2paper here is a picture and a sample...

post-24250-0-59682500-1459649977_thumb.jpg

This was written by my wife. The ink is Iroshizuku fuyu-gaki. The tipping on the nib is on the top side and might be part of the reason it is so smooth.

A thank you card was also sent back to mr2txaggie with four different pens and inks used, including the Lamy Studio.

While my original post was short, saying it had arrived, it is truly an excellent pen. This is definitely one of the pens which will be used more. The pen is very smooth, and a good weight.

Thanks, yet again, for such an excellent PIF and such a great community.
