Platinum # 3776

Howdy FPers,

A new PIF:
This will likely be my last PIF for several months.

I have a Platinum 3776 Century Bourgogne Fountain Pen. It is considered to be a demonstrator. It's a cartridge/converter, and includes the converter. The specs: 5 1/2 " capped, 24.6 grams with the converter installed. Of course it can use bottled ink or Platinum brand carts. This PIF includes postage paid worldwide :).

I purchased this Platinum when I first got under the spell of pen, paper and ink Addiction. I'd never bought a pen from the Eastern producers. I didn't know that the nibs were almost a full size smaller than other manufacturers. The nib is in the same condition it was when I bought the pen. I'm not sure why, but I simply don't care for Fine ( or smaller ) nibs.

GUIDELINES :
You must be a Gold Level Member for at least 6 months, going by the "Joined " date under your Avatar,
You cannot have won a PIF from me in the past six months,

Note:

Please, since this is done on the honor system ~~~ if you have a Platinum Century 3776 ( or similar ) of any color, nib size, nib type or any pen like this ~~~ exclude yourself. As there is no way to monitor whether or not you do indeed have a pen like this one, just let your conscience be your guide !!!

As members ask to be considered, a number will be assigned. At the end of the PIF, my Number Generator will be used to define the new owner of this very nice Platinum #3776, Bourgogne, Fine, 14kt nib fountain pen.

One more thing I want to share with you:

The reason I do this is that I simply want to share back to the FPN Community. This PIF is not a joke - I have done PIFs for other quite valuable pens in the past.

On March 17 I will conduct the drawing.

Now, have fun and good luck to all that hope to be the new owner of the Platinum #3776.

Aggie,

Thank you kindly for your extraordinary PIF. We really appreciate you doing this!

The Admin and Moderator team realize that when you had a Lamy 2000 PIF last November, you received several remarks from a small group of members here, ranging from silly and stupid to disparaging and offensive.

Let me therefore state beforehand for all readers here, that if this happens with this PIF, corrective actions will be taken against those who think it is necessary to do this.

This PIF is not a joke, it is a proper PIF, and it will be handled like a PIF and nothing else.

Warm regards, Wim

Thanks for such a generous PIF. Please add me to your list.

EDIT: I should add that I have no Japanese pens at all, except for some Varsities that I give to young family members and friends who show an interest. I have been looking at the 3776s for a long time. So, thanks again.

I can't be part of this, but just wanted to say I have this exact pen and I love it. What an incredibly generous PIF. Thanks for embodying such a lovely quality of this community.

Please enter me in this giveaway. I've read about the Platinum 3776 Century and thought about getting one eventually, so this is a welcome opportunity! I think I checked on the 6-month Gold status for one of your earlier giveaways, and do meet that guideline. I haven't won any of your recent PIFs. (I don't think I've won any PIF on this site yet, actually.) And I don't already own this pen -- I don't have any Platinum pens at all yet -- so I appreciate this chance to obtain one. Thanks very much for the offer!

I would like to enter this PIF. I don't know exactly when I hit Gold, but I believe it was well over 6 months ago.

I've never tried a Platinum fountain pen, but I'm a big fan of my Pilot Metropolitan fine nib.

Thanks,

IB

Gosh I would love the opportunity to win this beauty! I have tried others' 3776 pens at our fountain pen group meets, and absolutely love them, but have not yet managed to snag one of my own. Unfortunately my pen purchases only come after much saving, hence my collection remains tiny as I must sell something every time I wish to buy anything!

Imagine this pen paired with a rich Syrah ink.. Whomever wins this will be very lucky and surely very grateful for your generosity! :)

I would love to win this Platinum, I haven't got a single Platinum at all, but I really love the Japanese fine nibs I have on my Pilots.

A very big thank you to you for this incredibly generous PIF.

In case Zwack doesn't see this in time (he's sleeping--we just got back from Hawaii, and are in super-exhausted mode), please put his name forward for this PiF. Mine is not an entry, as I won one of your Rhodia prizes more recently than 6 months. But Zwack has won nothing from you, and I know he'd love to be included in the drawing.

Great and very generous PIF!

If you do consider International entries, please do count me in (I am willing to pay the shipping).

I so far have only ebonites and wooden pens (along with a recent metallic addition), and do not own any Platinums.

Thank you for offering such an awesome PIF. :)

Please could I be entered? I have no Platinum pens, and I have never even seen a Platinum pen. However I have had letters written to me using a Platinum pen with a F nib, and I found myself wishing I had a pen with a nib like it.

Echoing everyone else's sentiment of gratitude!

I'm sorry that the pen didn't resonate with you :(

Fingers crossed that I might be lucky on the 17th :)

Loving the kindness on this forum. Well done aggie for offering this up.

Best of luck to all entrants, I find the 3776 with an F is a delight to use. Someone will soon be a happy bunny. :bunny01:
