Does anyone know on this pen, the LE Michelangelo, not the Grande, does the piston filler use the power filler method? My understanding is it was introduced much later than in these pens. I will find out soon and glad to join this amazing forum. My new pen has the portable ink well and the old Visconti clip. Thanks for the help.

Well looks like per Coles ofLondon site I have the origonal piston filler not the double res one... again great to be here

anything I should do for an new unused old stock pen to insure it works ok?

Clean it with water and a drop of dish soap (fill and empty a few times), then repeat the process with clean water. That should clean out and old oils or gunk.

its sold as new old stock and might have been sitting for 15-18 years.. thanks I will do the water a drop of soap and then some better wetter ink...

Comes with an ink pot in the same celluloid... begs to be transformed modded into a giant pen!

Let it sit overnight after you've filled it. Those feeds take awhile to soak in so you get the full performance. Make sure you leave it submerged up to the section at least 10 seconds after pushing the plunger so it has time to drink its fill.

Edited to add - if you haven't used one of these ink pots before, practice with water first to avoid expensive embarrassment.

over night with ink or overnight with soap solution ?>

and

Yes I saw and heard from the video reviews of the exploding rocket ink pot... simple physics I guess, a fast stream of ink one way, a pot the other .. thank you for the help!

Well, for me there are things in Fountain penlandia I like and things I do not like... just preference. Like clear translucent pens in colors.. ickiii

Pens for under 10 that write perfect and are amazing finds... nice... and old Broads nibs that are nice and wet... could not ask for anything more....

Oh yum! The B nibs on these are to die for

I am so impressed, even with test driving some 23k pd dream nibs in the shop how this B 18k nib performs.. WOW Its like a no friction pen on the nicer paper CF and Rhodia.... I love the colors and having this is a treasure. Thank you all very much for the help.... I could not speed write fast enough to have the nib not keep up.... just a joy to write with
