Well, only half mail. A Chinese made Sheaffer Prelude coming USPS and a Nakaya Kikyo Portable Writer coming UPS. One bright red the other a dark blue.

A customer saw me using a fountain pen, ran out to his car and came back with a Pilot Varsity and gave it to me. I just happened to have 4 FPs in my pocket and wrote the ink names on a piece of paper to show him the colors. When I got to Yama-dori, he said, "I like that one." The Varsity has a nice dark blue ink.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I'm waiting on a Sheaffer Legacy II Copper - a gift from the wife and mother-in-law for my birthday (which I'm getting about a month earlier. No complaints here :D ).

Also, my Nakaya Portable Cigar Heki-Tamenuri, which I bought way back in May, is finally in the mail.

Finally, there is a 1990's Montblanc 146 (boxed), which I bought from the classifieds here, on its way too. This one is not mine, but my son's. In any case I get to "test write" it first for about a month and a half :D .

I'm almost done for the year... Almost!

I pulled the trigger on an Aurora Optima 75th anniversary. My love of red pens with gold trim will be the death of me yet. :P This will be my first Aurora--I'm very excited!

Ugh - Seems I fell off the proverbial wagon yesterday. I hadn't purchased a pen since late July with the idea that I would not buy anything until the Ohio Pen Show in Nov. Alas - I was looking at my Amazon wish list and saw the Parker Duofold (blue) International was marked down to $299 - almost $100 off MSRP. To make matters worse I had $200 worth of Amazon gift cards sitting in my account so the pen would only be just over $100 out of pocket after taxes.

So yes - I now have a Parker Duofold in transit, due to arrive at my doorstep tomorrow!

Literally just ordered an Italix Parson's Essential in burgundy with a non-italic M nib :)

First fountain pen buy since my yellow Lamy Safari a year ago, can't wait!
Should be arriving around Tuesday :D

I am waiting for my first pen, I wanted something that is professional and yet would show my personality.

I took some advice on first pen ownership and ordered the Pilot Metro in Gold, with the plain band and with fine tip along with some anti-feathering noodler's black.

Just pulled the trigger on a red Guider Zimbo after having managed to resist the temptation for a long, long time. Hope it will speed itself from India to this corner of France.

Also waiting for a little package of vintage French pens - two Gold Starry and two Edacoto.

Too many pens, too little time!

Oh man, I've been eyeing that pen for a while, too. Maybe you'll let us know how you like it one you have had time to use it for a while?

I hope you enjoy the Metro! I got a Metropolitan in a different color for my twelve-year-old daughter to use at home, and she adores it. They're great pens.

Not in the mail, but yesterday I did a little retail therapy after 4+ hours on the phone with Apple trying to get my phone un-borked. :wallbash: And yes, that was on TOP of the many hours last week at the Apple Store Genius Bar dealing with my laptop, and then several more that night re-installing apps that were lost during the wipe of the hard drive (some of the files -- including ones that HAD been on my desktop, are just... gone...). :gaah:

So I needed to feel better, and stuck my nose in the new pen shop in Pittsburgh, Birmingham Pens (formerly xfountainpens.com). And walked out with a Noodler's resin Konrad in Medieval Lapis. I was waffling on a Nemosine Singularity -- at roughly the same price as the Konrad -- because the previous time I'd been in the store I'd tried the different nibs and really liked the .6 mm stub) but most of the colors were um, a little bright (I hesitate to say "childish" or "not grown up looking"), and the two that weren't I just didn't like. But there might still be one in my future, because the guy who works in there said that Nemosine might be coming out with some ebonite bodied ones.... :) Oh, and l learned to cross Conklin Herringbones off my wish list -- sadly, they're way too heavy for me (and even the Conklin Duragraphs were a bit heavy, especially when posted.... :(

And of course I have to go back to the store again to see if their Diamine order came in (it hadn't yesterday :crybaby: -- I really want a bottle of Oxford Blue...).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I am waiting on a Franklin-Cristoph Model 19 from Anderson Pens. I was very impressed by the Pocket 66, so I am really looking forward to trying this one out.

You will like the Model 19. I spent a fair amount of time at pen shows trying out all the F-C demo nibs, and settled on the Masuyama gold medium cursive italic. What an incredible nib!

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I've stuck with the basic steel mediums so far, which I liked much more than I was expecting in the Pocket 66, but am definitely hoping to be able to catch them at the Ohio Pen Show this year and try out some of Mr. Masuyama's nibs. I've never used an italic nib, so I'd like to try it out first, but also really want to try out the music nib.
