If you have a supplied cartridge, use that. If I can help it, I rarely use converters these days and have switched over to filling the cartridge witha syringe or pipette where I can. I find that the ink flow is always at least as good or much improved.

It did come with two cartridges, and I do have syringes, but I still prefer filling converters... I plan to use the cartridges eventually, but I don't want to use the black ink in it right now and my frugal nature keeps me from dumping the ink to use something else.

It's not a complete pen, but I'm waiting on a Pelikan M400-size IB nib that I plan to use in my Levenger special M250 brown tortoise.
