There's a bunch of them on eBay, dead easy to find.

EoC was rather amused by this one:

Well, a Lamy AL costs $36 on Jetpens and it is dead easy to find a brand new Lamy Copper AL on eBay for $40. If you want it are you going to quibble over $4?

The Lamy Duck is a different thing altogether as it is not available in retail outside of South Korea.

I'm patiently waiting on my Asa Rainbow cherry swirl flat-top.

I still have a week or so to go yet though, but I'm really quite excited.

I was determined to get one from waay back when I was getting my daily fix by looking at Mehandirrata's.

Not long now.

Just splurged on a Matador pen. This will be a first for EoC in this maker. In case anyone is wondering, these are exploratory purchases at low prices for the purposes of education... and if lucky, one may turn out to be a good 'un!

I have a couple of Jinhao x450's on order, being shipped directly to recipients, as gifts. That way I don't have to pay any postage. I don't expect to do this any more, as no one will sell me any more of the 99¢ x450's .

It's been fun.

It is a very good pen for the price, or a higher price. The user can get the big nib to flex, with some effort. Resist. It requires enough force to spring the nib.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

TWSBI Eco with 1.1 stub. The Jinhao 8812 with the Rose Wood barrel has arrived in NY. Looking for it to arrive next week..

ADDENDUM: Got an email last evening that my FPR Treveni Jr. Acrylic with 1.0 stub has shipped, along with (3) #5.5 stub nibs.

well LAMY AL Star is easily available at fontoplumo at 25 USD

http://fontoplumo.nl/shop/en/lamy-fountain-pens/1154-lamy-al-star-charged-green-fountain-pen-special-edition.html

also the shipping cost is minimal at 5 usd which at ebay is plus 10 usd.. so the landed cost of lamy alstar orange is around 49 usd...now comparatively its usd 19 difference..

Note, EoC originally didn't say anything about it being a cheap price, only mentioned availability. Price was quoted just for facts.

If it's a limited edition and may be unavailable anytime soon... well, sub $50 is still a reasonable price. And of course it just business. They have something you want, they will try to get as much money as they can for it. How much do you really want it, hmm?

Lamy Dialog 3 piano black. When I first saw it I made inhuman noises with my mouth. Futuristic design with a top view that looks like an airplane engine, a gold nib, retractable AND a shiny black that looks much darker than matte black? Count me in! I do think that it's overpriced, though.

Three pens arrived today.

  • A repaired Wahl ringtop back from Danny Fudge (you may see this in the classifieds at some point)
  • A Parker 45 CT (Red Arrow) that is in super condition with the original box and two carts still under the cushion
  • and - rather sadly - a nice looking Conway Stewart 388 in blue that has a burn mark on the barrel that was undisclosed by the seller, this will be going back for a refund, alas.

In order from near to far anticipated arrival:

* Pilot VP Blue with Rhodium trim, Fine nib

* Lamy 2000, Fine nib

* Iroshizuku Syo-ro

* Iroshizuku Ami-Iro

* Pilot Prera Iro-Ai, Calligraphy nib

* Conid Minimalistica+ Bulkfiller, Titanium Fine nib

* Newton Shinobi, Steel fine nib

I was at home sick today and I probably should not take cold medication and have access to the Internet. Oh well... :)

Today I received a Parker 51. Wow, does it write well. This is my first vintage pen and I love it already. I can see why it was (and is) a great every day pen.

Bexley Gaston's Special Reserve w/stub. This is what happens when I browse MB broads. I end up with...well, not a MB.

Cool to see the Ako dice floating around. I still haven't put mine to use. Went kind of d6 crazy around the time of the campaign.
