Got both the Go! and the M150 today. Turns out the Go! wasn't sent back and was sitting in the PO.

The M150 sure is purty. And what a tiny little thing it is! It's precious. My precious! Mine! Mine!

I'm about to order a Platinum 3776 tonight (soft fine) this would be my second semi-expensive pen... so excited.

I have one- but in a broad. I do love mine, however. It's a smooth writer. I'm interested to hear how the soft-fine is!

Also, my TWSBI Eco in Clear arrived this afternoon. Going to be my pen dedicated to any and all sparkly inks. Filled it up with Stormy Grey, and I'm happy with my choice of M nib. I had been going back and forth between that and a fine. Who knows, for a workhorse pen like this, I'll likely buy a second. Time will tell! (All I need is for them to release a pink version, and I'll be a gonner!!)

Waiting for this 1951 Pelikan 500 set from ÜberPens. No financial relation, but I am a very happy repeat customer. Their pens are meticulously restored, and their service is excellent.

Recieved from notemaker via the postman five minutes ago.

Note the box of neon coral cartridges, this was a free gift I totally wasn't expecting. Notemaker aren't always the cheapest out there, but they are good people all the same.

I needed a new nib unit for my Waterman Expert, so I thought, "Why not go ahead and order the Perspective?" So I did!

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

I am happy to announce that I am no longer waiting for two pens from the USA, via Austria, back to the USA, to Ireland and then publically untraced until I found it waiting by the front door when we returned from a day out.

The pens are undamaged and interestingly, there is no record on the box or label of any side trips. Further, the address pane was completed slightly differently from that sent to me by both Bill and USPS when they shipped (the post code had moved from after the country to before the town). Finally, as I recall Bill said he marked his parcels for signature in receipt, yet none was required.

My tentative conclusion is that someone in Ireland noticed the marks and record of travels and simply re-addressed it in a replacement box and pushed it on eastward.

I know it is a lot of dark+gold but I am very happy to have a Lamy Imporium and Waterman Exception (the thicker version which is not the Night and Day) to try tomorrow.

Unless I'm having something sent express post or via courier I always leave specific instructions for parcels not to be left on my stoop. I've had $300+ dollar amazon orders just left sitting at my door, and in one case a 200-dollar order from good games was spirited away by some random jerk. Although we have a new parcel delivery guy these days I still don't trust Australia post.

In the post and winging their way here:

1. Pilot Custom 823 amber, fine - expected in the next 10 days or so

2. Asa Nauka - expected whenever.

3. A rather beat up Mabie Todd Swan SF2

I somehow doubt I'll be lucky enough to add anything to this list though.

Off topic for this thread in some respects, this particular parcel was worth over US$700, or over A$1000 these days all costs considered. Happily, we live in a quiet place and our front door is quite a way from our rarely trafficked road.

Regarding delivery people, a year ago a $100 package from Hong Kong, not fitting in the letterbox so a door delivery, was marked as "delivered" by Aus Post, yet it was not because both of us were home all day. When we tried to trace the problem, Aus Post said "delivered" even though we were pointing out this could not reasonably be so. That particular deliverer ceased working for them shortly after the failed delivery and before our complaint but still no admission or insurance payment from Aus Post.

The elephant in their room is employee/contractor fraud of one form or another, never admitted as a possibility to the public.

You've picked some lovely pens there! I'd love to get my hands on a Waterman Edson someday. If I ever spend that much on a pen, it might end up being that one.

I had been thinking about making a thread along the lines of, "this is what I was thinking when I started" and "this is where I am now". In there, I had thought to make a comment about inadvertently doing a Montblanc in public, or the most desirable pen (personally) that I had considered but yet not bought, and that was (is) an Edson. So far, I have resisted it owing to its visual elaboration. I mean, it looks like an Edson. :)
