PATIENTLY (somewhat) waiting for my new Lamy 2000 to arrive. It should be here Wednesday.

Same here! Although my estimated arrival changed to Friday, based on the tracking I'll be very puzzled if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow.

These pens are currently in transit:

Jinhao 159 (purple - got it for the color only)

Jinhao X750 (purple)

Jinhao X450 (purple - a gift for a friend who wants a purple FP))

Well I didn't know those Jinhaos came in purple, but I do now ... and from 2 minutes ago I'm also eagerly waiting for them in the mail. :-)

Handily, buy 3 get 5% off. Sheaffer Skrip purple looks suitable, but check out the toomanypurples blogspot for an exact match.

Jinhao x450: white, red, dark red, black, blue. (A four-pack of them and the blue one that I've been waiting for for ages*, basically)

A wooden Jinhao 8812

And a Noodler's Ahab (Arizona, heck yeah.)

*by normal standards. By 'this package is coming from China' standards, everything's peachy and I'm impatient.

Parker 45 steel with gold trim. I won't know until it arrives whether the nib is 14k or gold plated.

It had the GP nib but I have swapped in a 14K spare that I had.

After a 2 hour soak to loosen the nib collar, 5 minutes in the ultrasonic bath, the nib swap, and a general tidy up, it is a fabulous pen. It only cost £11 (I cannibalised the 14K nib from a shoddy 45 flighter at a bric-a-brac sale for £2).

I am really starting to get loved up with these 45s -- I just can't resist having one with me wherever I go: they look beautiful and write wonderfully, especially with the gold nibs.

I only have medium nibs so I just need to be lucky enough to one day find a nib that is wider or italic or oblique ... or all three!

Cheers,

David.

Just won an auction for a Montblanc 254 with an OBB nib. I have become interested in these earlier, non-Meisterstück Montblancs--I now have six or seven of them. They all write beautifully, and they do not attract the attention of Scolding Envious Persons.

My MB Heritage Rouge et noir black fountain pen. It's been 2.5 weeks since the order, and it was going for a nib exchange, so I'm a little nervous the 6 week nib exchange I've been hearing about it true...still, I'd rather know that than have radio silence.

I haven't received my Pelikan m800 Grand Place yet, but now I'm also waiting on an m800 Brown Tortoiseshell with a double broad italic nib. Next week is looking to be a good week.

Well, no further contact from the seller of the Café Crème (it was odd that the person contacted me directly, rather than through Ebay); I had sent back mail asking if there was tracking info for FedEx, but haven't heard a peep from the seller since. :(

OTOH, a Dark Lilac Safari, F nib (along with a sample of the Dark Lilac ink) is now wending my way. I had half considered buying a full bottle, after all the buzz on here about how awesome the ink was -- but by yesterday morning Goulet Pens was *already* sold out of both bottles and cartridges.... :o

Also have a bunch of ink samples coming from Anderson Pens. (Usual disclaimers apply in both cases, other than the standard one about being a happy customer -- at least in both of those cases I have already received tracking #s, even if the USPS doesn't recognize them yet).

Non pen related, I ALSO have an obscure little promo 45 RPM (also an eBay purchase) that is in theory arriving in the mail today.... :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: So it's been a good week overall (even if I was 20 minutes late to the dentist this AM due to several traffic issues that hadn't been mentioned on the radio :glare: until I called the station up and said "Hey, Bigelow Blvd. outbound is NOT moving...").

Waterman Opera.

Sadly, it is predicted to arrive about 24-72 hours after I leave the country. I knew that at the time I bought it, pretty much. I hope to bring home some pen companions for it. I shall certainly bring some inks for its comfort.

My excellence arrived today.

This is my first pen ever for over 150 euros and i gotta say, this thing is unlike anything i've ever seen. The contrast in comparison with the other diplomat i own (traveller) is day and night. I'm very much in love with it already, i'm giving the nib and the feed a bit of a flush before writing with it because i noticed there was a bit of a blue residue (i'm guessing ink) on the nib and converter. Pictures and writing sample will follow.

Ruth, I hope this all works out. I would hate to see you disappointed, knowing how much you love this pen.

I'm actually considering pinging the seller on Ebay asking for FedEx tracking info (I looked to see if there was another way to do it on the FedEx website yesterday afternoon, and their answer was just to contact the seller).

But truthfully, I knew going in that the estimated ship date was a couple of week window.... And then, of course another wait, probably, to get to a pen show, because I'm expecting it to have the same nib issues that the first one did -- to the point where I've already named the pen (and I don't even have it yet). And that name? "Skippy". Partly because of the skipping issues with the first one, and partly because it's the (evil) twin of the one I lost.... ;)
