What Pen Are You Waiting For In The Mail 2016

Just received the Rosewood Ebonite Wahl Eversharp DecoBand with super flex nib. It's a beautiful pen and writes smoothly without skips or hard starts F-->BB. Love this pen! Considered to be oversized but very comfortable even in my small hands.

Thanks, Syd!

Wow. What a beautiful pen. I love the feel of ebonite, and the nib sounds awesome (you need to provide a writing sample so we can all drool... ;)).

Is this vintage or one of the modern Wahl pens?

Ruth...It's the modern WE DecoBand that just came out at the end of 2015. I'll post a writing sample ASAP. It comes in Rosewood Ebony, Black Ebony and Lapis Lazuli acrylic...choice of SemiFlex nib (F-->M) and Superflex (F-->BB). Comes in a beautiful black lacquer box and includes a bottle of WE Wahlberry ink. Awesome pen!

The Rosewood Decoband is simply gorgeous!

I'm waiting for an Osmiroid 65 set, and (unintentionally) yet another Sheaffer No Nonsense calligraphy set. I was hoping to add a Platignum calligraphy set to the list as well, but I'm not sure if that'll happen now.

I was once a bottle of ink, Inky Dinky Thinky Inky, Blacky Minky Bottle of Ink!

My Pilot/Namiki Fountain was supposed to be delivered yesterday but I got a notice saying the "we attempted to deliver but the business was closed" argh!

Deep breath, hopefully gets here today.

I don't know if there's much that's more frustrating.

An old family friend, upon hearing of my new obsession, has sent me a Harley-Davidson-themed Stypen and a vintage, beginner (his words) Montblanc... I'm thinking that probably neither of these is ready for use, so I'm looking forward to them, but am pretty sure they won't be my first real pens, if you know what I mean.

I'm one inch away from bugging the mailman ever day. I have no idea how to prepare for these pens... I don't know if they're coming with cartridges, converters, hamsters on wheels... no idea.

Looking forward to it though.

I also just won a Pilot Kakuno (red) on another forum that will be coming from Hawaii. THAT'S the one that has me psyched.

In the mail (hopefully) is a Pelikan M200 Café Crème with a B nib, to replace the one I lost in March. Happened onto the eBay listing the other night with about 10-12 hours to go on the auction (I hadn't even been looking because most places they're no longer available now). So no nickel and dining on this one. And then talked to the husband first thing the next morning, going "So, how much higher can I go as a maximum.....?" And it turned out that it went up a bit by the closing bell, but not anywhere to the point of my initial bid. B) And less than I paid for the one I lost, and WAAAY less than they were originally going for. And there was free shipping to boot....

What I can't figure is why the seller even had it listed. I mean, my first one had skipping issues until I took it to nibmeister, so I'm going in with my eyes open. But the pen was apparently barely used (did the seller decide it was too small and wanted to spring for an M800 or something?) and only had a few bids on it when I saw the listing. It went up a bit overnight, but still went for way cheaper than it should have -- not that I'm complaining of course..... ;)

You're sooooo lucky! That pen is on my list.

Mine showed up this afternoon. It is a beautifully made, well polished ebonite pen with a JOWO 1.1 stub nib. It is called the ASA Genius, and I am a happy camper! Patience did pay off!!!

Lucky you!

I'm still waiting, although, to be fair, anything up to May 2nd is within the stated time window...

... which doesn't keep me from waiting for the mailman (... mailwoman? Mailperson? whatever) at the front door pretty much every day *shrugs*

You're sooooo lucky! That pen is on my list.

It was on my list from the first time I saw a picture of one. I had the nib on the first one tuned so it was perfect, and was absolutely crushed when I lost it. I had at least two people over the weekend ask me if this new one is the same pen that I lost (and scarily, I had to actually think for a second or two the first time -- but then realized that it can't be because the replacement one I just bought is supposed to have the box). The fact that I don't have to scrounge around to get a different nib is just icing on the cake.... I wonder if Pelikan realized what a tremendous hit the Café Crème color was going to be; I mean, the Amethyst was a nice color and all -- but when push came to shove it was a pricy translucent demonstrator -- if I want a translucent piston filler demonstrator I can get a $20 Noodler's Konrad (okay, the nib won't be as nice, admittedly...).

Heard from the seller today -- it's being shipped via FedEx but I don't know if there's tracking info for it yet.

And then of course I'm also waiting for places here in the States to get their shipments of the new Dark Lilac Safaris so I can order one....

There is a Fedex box sitting on my office desk right now. Just arrived - about one and one half hour ago - from North Carolina (I think that's what "NC" stands for anyway). I feel strangely reluctant to open it to be honest.

Let's hope the "NC"....doesn't stand for "No Contents"!!!! :yikes:

I'm guessing that, coming from NC.....it's a Franklin Christoph, right??!! ;)

Enjoy!!

Always try to get the dibs.....on fountain pens with EF nibs!!

Parker 45 steel with gold trim. I won't know until it arrives whether the nib is 14k or gold plated.
