The sales lady in the store told me that it's very limited numbers in the coral. She said they only received three in coral, and two sold out very quickly and I got the display model. She told me the black, on the other hand, is being made in greater quantities.

I don't know if this really answers your question, as it basically is the same as what others are telling me. All I can say is that my local boutique has been selling them more than any of the others this week; people visiting love these pens more than the classic Meisterstück. And given that this was the last coral they had, I decided to jump on it.

I have been told the same story. It seems that the coral will be produced in just one run, which means that they will produce a given number of them (I have no idea of such a number) but then they will stop producing them. On the other hand, the black resin one will be in the production line a other MB models, so no production limitation applies here. It's strange that MB does not provide this information on his webpage, but time will clarify the situation :-)

What is certain is that the ebonite one will be produced in a limited number, 1906 units to be precise.

Welcome to FPN and congratulations on a beautiful pen! :) Reckon you'll make a lot of people jealous, especially these particular few days with the release of the Heritage 1906 collection which made everyone want an Agatha! :P

Picked up the rouge et noir coral fp today. It's gone straight off to MB to change the nib to a B.

Saw the Guggenheim in the boutique. Spectacularly good looking pen..

Congratulations! I had doubts about my F nib a few days after my purchase, the boutique said just to bring it back for a whole pen exchange on the spot. Guess they have plenty in stock here.

Three 221 with different nibs and filling systems. These little things are so addictive and fun to write with...attachicon.gifIMG_0767.JPG

One of my favorite inlaid nibs of all time. I love these as much as my Meisterstücken.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I just picked the Rouge et Noir ballpoint from the Houston Boutique. I was not that convinced about the fountain pen after placing the Agatha Christie right next to it (even a similar size nib feels smaller, such as the Heritage 1912 looks a little bit bigger), but the ballpoint and the roller ball are really nice

The London Bond Street Boutique had only 1 pen (with a fine nib) in stock - although they were confident they could order 1 specially from MB which is the option I chose.

Joining the list of those who have purchased a Rouge et Noir in Coral. Arrives tomorrow, can't wait!

My girlfriend just unexpectedly bought me black Rouge et Noir when stopped in Paradise Pen while doing some shopping at the mall. They gave me a good price on it and I couldn't resist. I'm awaiting a nib swap to a fine and can't wait!

I was also really torn by the coral version, but went with the black and red. love the aesthetics.

Also really really like the 1912. that could make an appearance here soon...
