What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2016

After ordering a platinum OBBB 149 from La Couronne du Comte, I thought that would be enough from Montblanc for awhile. Then I foolishly looked at the Uberpens website this morning, tempted by their email offering 25% off for Black Friday. I found this blue Danish 212 with a flexible EF nib from the '50s irresistible. I have seen a good number of photos of red Danish MBs, but never a blue one like this:

According to the book written by Holten/Lund "Montblanc in Denmark" they only came in black and coral red.

 

Could it be that it´s a black one where the white balance in the photo is off?

I personally find the 146 size the best fit for myself, and like to rotate the examples I have daily.

 

I picked this up yesterday and then unexpectedly offered the new MB 20 collectors box at a price i couldn't refuse!

 

 

This is a lovely case! I've been eyeing MB cases as well as FC foldable cases but never got around to purchasing anything.

BTW, your platinum EF picture excites me very much! I can't wait to have it in my hands (hopefully before Xmas!)

It's possible, but it sure looks blue/purple to me. Generally, the quality of the photos on the UberPens site is exemplary. The pen appears to be in impeccable condition, and I have ordered from them numerous times with complete satisfaction. We'll see when it gets here, and I'll report.

I too was looking at the FC 12 pen display case, unfortunately after viewing one in person i saw the internal slots are not covered in felt like the MB example and more for keeping on your desk and not moving the case often as the pens move within the case.. I enjoy my FC penvelope 6 and use that daily, the quality is excellent!

Strange thing happened as I was walking through the mall after work today looking for cyber Monday deals with the intent to purchase work shirts, ties and a few suits. Stopped by the MB boutique and I paid for and placed an order on a fine nib Martele as they only had the M nib in the boutique. Then walked over to Paradise Pen to buy some Iroshizuku ink. I ended up purchasing the Blue Hour LeGrand FP with a medium nib and the Martele FP with a fine nib with a SAVINGS of about $700 US when you factor in the total discounts and tax. 😳✒️

I got to hold the Martele last night for the first time.. I was taken back by the weight of the pen, similar in weight to my Albert Einstein. It's $1,800USD locally with no discounts offered

Thank you! I love it. I've got a pre-war 234 1/2 with a ruined nib. I ordered a medium (couldn't find fine or any other nib) for it. It's in the mail coming from Germany. The nib needs a bit of work so I'll need to send it and the pen off.

 

In the meantime I'm enjoying this beautiful luxury model with stub nib. Cleaned up some scratches (but not all) and it looks even sharper than the image I posted.
