Saw the photos of the Miles Davis today on the La Couronne du Comte web site, and was underwhelmed. Looks like it will be a 149 Platinum OBBB for me. I do like the look of the Miles Davis ink, though.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Pravda, Tom and Ghost Plane:

Thank you very much! I used this pen to authorise reports at work today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very juicy and somewhat more so stubbish than the broad on my 1912.

Following my bipolar intuition, I changed my mind on the nib size for the platinum 149 order and asked for an EF (of course inspired by Tom!). Looking forward to reporting on the EF as well here.

Kind regards,

Woof woof

I have no idea why I purchased this one today other than my only gold LeGrand is the 147, my Platinum is a 146, and the Ultra Black is a 146. Figured maybe I should have a gold 146 also. I have purchased and sold off so many 146s over the years. Rotating through different brands of pens for a few months or weeks. Somehow I always long for the 146 and buy them again. With 100+ FPs in my collection, could the 146 be the ultimate pen??? That's the only explanation I can think of when contemplating why I keep coming back to this pen time and time again. I'm pretty far down this rabbit hole ... enjoying the ride and having a blast. Here are some photos

I personally find the 146 size the best fit for myself, and like to rotate the examples I have daily.

I picked this up yesterday and then unexpectedly offered the new MB 20 collectors box at a price i couldn't refuse!

Had no intention of buying anything in the Black Friday sales today, but somehow ended up buying a 1912 capless rollerball which was 20% off at John Lewis. I have been looking for a RB or BP and wanted it to be capless/one handed, though had thought I would get a used WE from eBay whenever something interesting came up not be buying new...

I also succumbed to the black Friday deals and bought a Boheme Moongarden for my wife.

I'm trying very hard to resist adding another 149 (those OBBB pictures are killing me) or a Heritage 1912 for myself.

After ordering a platinum OBBB 149 from La Couronne du Comte, I thought that would be enough from Montblanc for awhile. Then I foolishly looked at the Uberpens website this morning, tempted by their email offering 25% off for Black Friday. I found this blue Danish 212 with a flexible EF nib from the '50s irresistible. I have seen a good number of photos of red Danish MBs, but never a blue one like this:
