The man "in the center of the big room" was Robert something. Same guy I got my 146 from. I have his card at home.

So, what's your point?

I just had to have the Ultra Black when I saw it and after finding out about the LeGrand fineliner refills, I knew that the Ultra Black was the perfect model to pick for my LeGrand fineliner! I sold the last LeGrand rollerball I had due to lack of use and dislike for its writing capabilities but I truly love the fineliners; therefore, I am so excited to have a LeGrand rollerball/fineliner model in my lineup now!! It's the one pen I've been missing and in the size I love most (LeGrand).

Do you mind sharing the weight of the rollerball if you have a kitchen scale handy? I went to the shop to buy the fountain pen but realized that it's much much lighter than it feels from the pictures. I never thought of getting the rollerball until your post. From the regular 146 line, I think the rollerball feels a bit heavier than the fountain pen. I hope it's the same case here. Thanks!

My Heritage 1912 arrived yesterday to add to my small Montblanc collection below.

Funnily enough, I really disliked this pen when it came out, finding the simplicity of it somehow clinical (I also hated the big white star). It has grown on me obviously, and now I really love the design.

Having trouble uploading photos, let's see if this works:

Unfortunately, I do not have a scale so I cannot weigh the pen for you but I can tell you that it does feel a bit heavier than the fountain pen would be. There are more metal parts and more weight at the section-end of the barrel. I hope this helps!

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

You don't have a card because he didn't have any. :D

However, I was alert enough to have him affix one of those little adhesive address labels (that you get for giving $5 to the Humane Society or some such) to a torn-off piece of poor-quality-feathering-&-bleeding yellow writing pad paper, to which he added his phone number.

The name of our benefactor/enabler is Robert Fillmore (which he readily admits is a great name for a pen collector), and he lives in McKinney. PM me if you want the particulars. I love my 136 that I got from him, even though Mike Masuyama says it may need to be retipped.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

The photo with the handwriting sample is particularly effective.

It has that ‘true to life’ quality.

Thank you for the images. Please enjoy your fine pen.

Excellent! Thanks! I think I will buy one next time I am near the boutique.

I can always rely on you, J! And, now that you brought it up, I do remember you getting a label on a paper shred. Nice going!! ;) Thank you!

Thank you, Tom, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! I have to say, I was not expecting it so be so heavy, but I am trying to get used to the weight, and admiring the way it looks on my desk in the meantime ;)

I purchased the WE William Shakespeare with a M nib. It was my first MB in almost two decades...

I'm a retired speechwriter, so the MB Writer's Editions have always been of interest. While I was still working, I used the Marcel Proust as my work horse pen and it still looks great today. I also got the Edgar Allan Poe but never took it out of its box until a few weeks ago.

And just today, I found a Virginia Woolf that was purchased with a stub nib, and she never used it. Got that for $595 and I dont know if it is a "deal" or not, but Woolf is a favorite, and I loved the look of the pen. It should arrive by the end of the week, and I am so excited to see it.

I bought this MB254 at the London Writing Equipment show. It's a 3BB. A stub, that may be oblique? I'm not entirely sure what the 3 stands for.

Very nice!

Nib looks oblique, in your shot. But, that could be camera angle etc?

3BB? Are you sure it doesn't say 'OBB' (on the turning knob)?

Great pens.

Enjoy.

It could have been an O. It's a bit worn. That might make more sense.

Looking at Richard Binder's page, it is a left oblique.
