@Erasmus & @ScienceChick:

wonderful pens from my favorite period of Montblanc pens! I just love all the different varieties of the 13x series over the years. Great finds!

My latest additions from the Tilburg Pen Show are some fairly recent models:

The vintage Montblancs were thick on the ground at the Dallas Pen Show and there were some real beauties (like the 134 and 136 above). I brought home a wartime 134 that the seller dated to ~1940. It's marked for a F nib but this nib is definitely NOT F - which is great for me. I love the look of the long ink window. The nib looks wonky in the picture but that's the fault of my poor photography skills.

I finally decided to order a pen I have been thinking about for a year, the Heritage 1912. I've known they either were going out of production or would soon, and it seems I may be too late. I ordered from La Couronne du Comte a few days ago and got an email saying they are waiting on a back-order and will follow up with me in a week...

Valdair, I just ordered it a few weeks ago as well, from stilografica.it. Very happy customer, no affiliation. They have them in stock at a good price. The nib change only took about 3-4 weeks. It arrives next week! I hope it turns out to be worth it!

They do not list the pen as in stock, and the price is about €100 more than from La Couronne du Comte so I think I will wait and see what they say.

The Heritage Collection Rouge Et Noir (coral with a snake, not my normal style but strangely fascinating) and red gold Starwalker and the tiny but cute WA Mozart came today! So excited!

All fine nib.

I have not posted any of my recent purchases in here so I had some catching up to do... Today's pen that arrived is what inspired me to sit down and enjoy writing out some posts. :D

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

This lovely pen came last week from the classifieds here... I've heard so much about this pen and now know what all the talk is about. I just really wish I had much smaller hands or a larger pen with the same nib/feed characteristics :P I have really come to love the older nibs from Montblanc and so the addiction is fed....

I just had to have the Ultra Black when I saw it and after finding out about the LeGrand fineliner refills, I knew that the Ultra Black was the perfect model to pick for my LeGrand fineliner! I sold the last LeGrand rollerball I had due to lack of use and dislike for its writing capabilities but I truly love the fineliners; therefore, I am so excited to have a LeGrand rollerball/fineliner model in my lineup now!! It's the one pen I've been missing and in the size I love most (LeGrand).

I got a 149 which I believe is exclusive to the Montblanc Botique in Alteir. It has a coat of arms of atelier on the nib. The box is also different. In other ways it is similar to the 149.

Congratulations on a wonderful buy! I would love to acquire one of those some day or hope they maybe start doing something similar for countries or regions. Almost like a special edition 149 model where they only make a different nib engraving. Enjoy your new pen in good health! :)

Beautiful additions, Michael. And hopefully you acquired them at a good price as well. The Ultra Black is definitely a lovely pen!

~ Mister Mont Blanc:

Delighted that you acquired a 3-42 G Broad nib!

Although my hands are rather large, I've found that my two 3-42 Gs are consistently a pleasure to use.

Their nibs have enough flex to give flair to daily writing.

Thank you for posting the images and handwriting samples.

All of your recent purchases look terrific!

Some beauties in this thread.

I will have to post photos later (on tablet at home), although nothing unusual, I nabbed a vintage 146 with a fabulous nib, striped view window and a new 1912! So excited about both...to add to the 342-G OBB I picked up earlier this year.

And I swore I would not fall into the Montblanc black hole... :wallbash:

So, what's your point?

(Mine is a flexible F.)

I didn't get his name. He's an older man and said he was selling his pens because no one in his family had any interest in them. IIRC, his collection was mostly vintage MBs. He was toward the center of the big room.

Just read that post and I am interested in what " he was toward the center of the big room " means.........

He's smart to do this during his lifetime. Many refuse to part with their collections because they overvalue them, suspecting potential buyers are out to cheat them, leaving it to their disinterested heirs to dispose of the items.
