Gorgeous! My "dream pen", soon or later I'll buy one.

Thanks! A few MB boutiques in Hong Kong still have the pen available despite the pen being a 2012 model, I hope you can find one close to where you live!

I was offered one a couple of years ago (something around 2300 EUR , If I remember correctly), but I decided to pass. I had (and still have) problem in getting over the psychological barrier of 1000 USD for a single pen, but I will deal with this "problem"... :) Were you specifically looking for the rollerball?

I was offered a very good price for the rollerball (less than 40% MSRP) - but not the fountain pen

I very much agree that it is difficult to justify spending over 1000USD on a single pen but the Hitchcock LE is so luxurious and well designed, after I own it, I am starting to understand why these limited editions are so expensive (yet people are willing to buy them)

Great price for a great pen!

I handled one at the NY boutique last April and I was impressed (weight, attention to the details, etc.)! I was allowed to handle event the "red" one (almost 30k, If I am not mistaken), but I found the grey one by far more beautiful.

I was looking for a 234 1/2, but when I saw this monster, I realised the 234 1/2 was much to tiny for me.

Crazy nib!! What is the story with it being bespoke? Does Montblanc do/used to do that?

Whoa!!!! hold the presses !!!

Eugen-of-Savoy,

"A 149 bespoke 5 OB nib"

Is that really what it looks like, 5 tines nib !

And how is it constructed so that there are no visible signs, of the outer tines on the top of the nib!

Can you see them from the side of the nib, I see the outer tines slant a degree or two....

And the feed on that thing, must be...... and flow.....

simply amazing,

Thanks for sharing,

Mark

I'm excited to finally have my own Rouge et Noir Coral FP! I've been trying to do a better job of managing my finances, so this is the first pen that I saved for prior to the purchase rather than trying to pay off the credit card debt afterwards.... And with all the buzz around the Coral and the stores' limited inventory, I was worried that I was going to miss my chance!

I've been playing with it for a week and I must say that it is truly beautiful in person and my favorite MB launch in years.

Finally got my first 149 in red gold trim. I put off getting the 149 for a while thinking it would be too big, but quite the contrary, it really is comfortable and well balanced. I like the coppery red (rose) gold trim, especially on the two tone nib.

Cumulative buys over the last few months.

Rouge et Noir BP

Heritage 1912 (M nib w/Pelikan Edelstein Ruby)

"M" RB

144 Solitaire (F nib w/Noodler's Bernanke Blue)

Rouge et Noir FP (M nib w/Pelikan Edelstein Onyx)

The M actually started life as a "fineliner", but I quick tossed that and dropped in a rollerball cartridge. (And those slight "alterations" that MB does to the standard Schmidt cartridge are maddening.) It's been a workhorse in the office.

The Solitaire is a model I've been in love with for years, but could never snag one. Finally found this little 144 on the cheap, and got it. The 1912 is nice, but I prefer the RetN, to be honest. Though I'll admit that that preference changes with mood swings.

And, of course, the RetN BP, my "poor man's Agatha"... A great little BP, which has gotten some good use at work.

I have an older MB 3 pen case which I keep switching these in and out of. 3 in the case, 2 in the pocket. Right now, both RetN's are doing pocket duty.
